Waited in line for a table for around 20 minutes, was asked if we minded sitting outside - we accepted this and the staff member swapped our table with another, so it had a table number. After deciding what we wanted, I ordered at the counter (vegan cookie dough and vegan crepe) at 8:10pm and was told the food would be 30 to 45 minutes. After half an hour no food had arrived and it had started to get dark and cold outside, so we ordered 2 americano's to warm us up while we waited for the food. I asked how long they would take and was told 10 minutes. By 9.15pm nothing had arrived, however we saw that food that looked like ours was given to the other table (that had been swapped), who promptly ate it then complained they had not been given their food! I then went to the counter to enquire how long the coffee and food would be and was told 10 minutes. On returning to my seat, we then discovered that it was indeed our food and so the server said she would get another 2 made. We waited a further 15 minutes and kept asking the server for updates. I then went to the counter again and showed them our receipts which had the time that we ordered and explained we had not been given any food or the coffee's. They said they would "rush" it to us. A further 15 minutes later we asked the server why we had not got the food and she said that the kitchen thought we had already eaten it - but this was the other table. So we had to complain again, eventually getting the crepes, then asked when the cookie dough and coffees would arrive to which he replied "you ordered cookie dough?" Eventually after 5 or so minutes the cookie dough and coffee's (which were more like longo's than americano's) arrived. The crepes were hard and cold, but we just had it as it was 9.45pm by then and we were just cold and wanted to leave. I understand that it was a very busy evening with the 50% discount, but to take so long and make so many mistakes is not acceptable. Clearly there is a lack of communication between front of house and the kitchen, this needs to be solved. Sorely disappointed by this experience, we have not eaten at a dessert restaurant in a long time and will be very...
Read moreI had an overall pleasant experience in here. It wasn't too busy and tables were widely spaced out so you never had to come into contact with other people. Sitting at the back was by far the best choice! There are toilet facilities for customers so you can wash your hands before eating your meal and the quality of the service I received on Monday at around 4 pm by the male employee was splendid. One of the things we ordered was out of stock and didn't like the alternatives but he kindly guided us through the menu and offered to give us literally anything as a substitute, even if it wasn't cheesecake. I was very happy to see him serve customers in such a warm and welcoming way. He really went above and beyond! The other 2 girl employees didn't really seem to care and did not smile back at us even once, looked really awkward and uncomfortable. If it was up to them only, this place would have been a mess... In fact they messed up my order and forgot to bring something over so the guy who arranged our order had to step in for us. I was very happy with his service, but wouldn't come back here knowing there aren't more employees like him. The food did take between 30 minutes and an hour to get to us, so I don't recommend this place for quick visits if you are in a rush. Ps: yes you have to scan the menu with a QR code and register in order to get an email confirmation of your order, but you can easily opt out of marketing emails so there is no need to oppose technological innovation. It is a positive change and I recommend young and older folks alike to try and support it. Heads up to creams for stepping up their game and introducing this system as well, like many other places :) Food was delicious as well! Portions are a bit confusing as some of our ice creams had more soft serve than others, looking better overall but okay. My suggestion for this place is to hire better employees who are quicker and can deal with issues more efficiently, only 1 out of the 3 employees available was...
Read moreFirst and only time I visited here. Came to Creams with my wife and daughter (in a pram) as the Costa across the road was closed. We got our seat pretty quick next to the entrance which was pretty cramped. We had tables either side of us with about 10cm gap between each table. 30 seconds later another couple got their seats next to us. They got menus straight away and ordered. 5-10mins later, we were still waiting for menus.
Ordered a mocha and latte with desserts. The waitress mixed our drinks with someone else's.
The customers next to us had their dessert and left as we were still waiting. Waitress started to clean their table and as I budged up to give her room to clean, she took the cutlery for my dessert (which they give when you go to the till to order your food). Dessert arrived and I had nothing to eat it with. Asked the lady for a knife and fork and she said ok. 5 mins later still no cutlery and ice cream was half melted. I stood up for a few minutes to get the waitress's attention and I could see that another customer asked for a spoon and received it straight away. So I walked up to the waitress to remind her but she apologised as she forgot to give cutlery. She still didn't get my cutlery though lol so I went to the till and got it myself.
What a weird experience. The customer service was baffling and not consistent with every customer. Dopey, rude and unprofessional staff who seem like deers in headlights.
Lesson learnt: Next time Costa is closed,...
