I ate in the Arnos Arms on Friday the 9th August. I was visiting London on a solo trip and staying near by. I had just come back from a long day in the city and as the pub is right next to the tube station, it’s very convenient. Also as a female traveler on my own I didn’t want to have to go to far as it was getting late! I hadn’t looked the place up online or anything as I hadn’t been planned on going there but I’m so glad that I did. The staff were immediately welcoming. I was welcomed to my table by Alex who was so friendly and accommodating. I also ordered a drink at the bar and the guy who served me(tall man with long-ish hair I think!) was also v nice. I ordered some olives to start - v tasty! and the fish and chips as a main with a side of home made slaw(highly recommended this w/h the fish&chips!) it was maybe the best fish&chips I’ve ever had!! crispy and fresh fish and amazing home made chunky chips. Plenty of tartare sauce also and yummy mushy peas. The portion was so big, I couldn’t finish it and it’s v rare for me to leave food! 😌 Overall, it was a lovely way to finish off my day of travelling. Well done to Arnos Arms on getting both service and quality to such a high standard. If I’m ever back near that location, I will def visit again.

Update: 25/05/2023 I'm not coming to this pub again. I used to be a regular here but things changed for the worse. They charged me over £7 for a pint of pineapple juice and a packet of crisps. It's a ripoff. The extortionate price is because they no longer serve fruit juices in a pint, instead they combined two different drinks to make it into a pint. The manager approved of this. Why can't they just serve drinks in pint glasses like a normal pub? The new staff are rude and don't listen. The new bar maid takes out an orange juice when I specifically asked for a pineapple juice. Puts ice in my drink when I said "no ice". Sigh. Oh dear. They have a long way to go. If this is how you run a pub and do customer service then I will no longer be coming here. It used to be a nice venue. But not anymore. What a shame. Previous review, 2021 Perfect place to enjoy a cocktail on a sunny day. I had the Berry mojito which was nice and refreshing. To order have to take a seat and download their app and then pay from there. The staff are nice and friendly. The pub is nice and clean. While I was exploring I spotted the chef's preparing a delicious meal. I asked them what it was and it turned out to be pork ribs. I will remember to try that the next time I come here. They have a front garden and a back garden for seating areas too. Be it solo or with friends and family, this is a place for everyone. So cheers. ^_^

I’ve been coming to Arnos Arms for quite some time now, and I must say, since the management change, they’ve really taken things up a notch. The food options are much more varied, and my personal favorite has to be the seafood linguine, which pairs beautifully with a good red wine. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the staff—especially VALENTINO. He’s always there to welcome you with a genuine smile, and his customer service is second to none. Valentino goes out of his way to ensure that my meal is exactly how I like it, particularly when I ask for my linguine to be spicy. Not only that, but he’s also an expert when it comes to drinks. He always knows the perfect pairing for whatever you’re ordering, and his patience with customers is incredible. If you’re ever unsure about what to order, I highly recommend asking Valentino for a suggestion. He’ll take the time to make sure you have the best experience possible. It’s this kind of personalized service that you expect from your local pub, even if the prices are a bit on the higher side. All in all, Arnos Arms feels like a proper neighborhood gem, and Valentino’s service makes it even better!

We ordered 2 starters with my partner which were “Salt & Pepper squid” and “Nachos”. The squid was overly salty and the nachos were very greasy. For mains we both had a roast and I could not have been more disappointed with the flavour of the dish. The gravy was so rubbed down, very watery and just lacked flavour. The vegetables we bland and the Yorkshire’s were overdone that they broke in half (super crispy). To top it off when the bill came to £68 I asked politely to take the service charge off as i wasn’t happy with the meal the waitress who was an older lady just walked away with some kind of attitude and came back after… had me pay my bill then just went off. Having worked in hospitality myself I’m pretty sure as a server you’re meant to have table side manners whilst serving and I felt that I received none of that. Oh, we got asked if we’d like dessert which we said yes to and waited for 20minutes for the menu and after it still did not come then we deceived to just get up and leave. No… thank you? No… how was your meal? Unfortunately I can’t say I had a good time here, it’s a shame. Great location, great pub. Poor service and food.

Good atmosphere and food. One thing that bothered me was service. Since it was a weekend lunch, I called them before we go there to make sure they have seats available. The lady on the phone said there are plenty of seats and I can just turn up without reservation. However when I got there, she asked us if we have a reservation and once they find out I don't, they clearly hesitated to serve us a bit despite lots of empty tables around. She started chatting to other colleagues right in front of me and said 'I guess I HAVE TO serve, follow me (to the table)'. What an unwelcoming comment to customers!! Totally shocked with what I experienced here.

This used to be the best pub in the area and I had it rated at 5* since 2021. Under Jade and then Sam as managers it's standards had increased continuously over 3 years. In the past few months since it's been under new management there is huge staff turnover, it's no longer clean or welcoming and the food standards have plummeted. I can only attribute this to the new manager who at best is distant and at worst surly and does not seem to enjoy the hospitality industry at all. Service is slow due to new staff being trained seemingly every week. I'd no longer recommend and I'm genuinely sad about this
