🚇 Bromley-by-Bow 🍺 £5.95 Estrella Galicia The Beehive is located in a quiet backstreet opposite a small industrial area in Bromley-by-Bow, East London. The nearest Tube is Bromley-by-Bow, Devons Road DLR is also close by. The original Beehive pub was built in 1844 and was sited on the opposite side of the road. The pub you see today was built in the 1930’s. This is a bright and airy one bar pub that feels slightly modern with traditional touches here and there. The servery is centrally located and has a fish tank located on the back bar. The decor consists of grey walls, light at the top, dark at the bottom, a boarded and tiled floor and some conventional furniture. Other features include an original 1930’s fireplace, a pool table plus a couple of screens to watch the footy. Just off the main bar is an intimate music room with a low level stage. There are a couple of outside spaces either side of the pub. The beer line up had a variety of well known keg beers and craft options. I decided on an Estrella Galicia, my pint was excellent, price point was average. There is no food menu but there are plenty of crisps and nuts. I arrived at 1pm on an overcast Saturday lunchtime in November. The pub was fairly quiet, there were four local lads sat around the bar chewing the cud and watching the early kickoff. I got chatting to the lads who were very friendly and pointed me in the direction of other local boozers. The service was great, the lady on duty was also friendly and welcoming. This pub hosts Live Music nights showcasing artists from all genres of music, if you want to see who’s playing, there are regular updates on @thebeehivelivemusicvenue In an area that is now scarcely populated by pubs, it was great to see this backstreet boozer open for business and trading. I loved the local pub feel here, even though I was not off the manor, I was made to feel very welcome. The beer was top drawer and sensibly priced, the fish tank was a good talking point and if you want to experience an intimate gig, this pub has you covered. I really enjoyed it here, it’s definitely worth a look. 📅 30th November 2024 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

It's quiet, hidden and perfect for a glass of mindfulness😉 after a days work. Personally its my fave of local pubs but that's because it is so quiet, nice pool table, outdoor smoking area to front and back are kept nice with lovely flower beds installed. Only improvement would be if they offered food but due to foot traffic I can understand why they don't YET. Would HATE to see this pub close like all the other locals have. Staff have always been incredibly polite, never spoken or acted rudely infront of me and the drinks are a decent price; not scandalous overcharged like a few that have locally been revamped. They also have a Sep room available for gigs etc, I've never been there late enough to see / hear it.

Lovely little gem of a venue. Great hosts for a number of bands on an Underground Sound event. Our band Capulus traveled from Bournemouth for our first foray into the London gig scene, and The Beehive was very welcoming. Excellent music stage setup and awesome sound engineer. Thanks!

overall had a fun night because of the bands. kind of odd vibes though. have a fish tank on the bar with way too many large fish inside for the size which instantly made me feel bad for their wellbeing…. like 3 huge goldfish with no room to move :( why two random guys started an argument with me and my boyfriend because i didnt talk to them after they shouted “do you have split personality” at me because of my hair dye being two colours 💀💀💀 which escalated in them trying to fight him and getting in his face (cringe) . the bar staff were clearly friends with them as they were yapping to eachother for a while and did not intervene in the argument even after the entire pub was watching it go down. so that felt safe!!!!!!! (not). after this the bar staff ignored me at the bar until i stopped one and asked if they are serving and did not make my drink correctly and charged me extra for it than before. just kinda weird behaviour !!! not welcoming :))))) customer service not a thing...

If you are playing this as part of an Underground Sound/More Live event, then cancel because it's not worth it. Very rough area, very rude staff and locals clearly don't want the bands there. We arrived slightly early, asked the woman at the bar where we could leave our equipment so it wasn't all in the garden, said she didn't know and wouldn't answer any questions at all and instead just told us to wait for the sound tech (who's the only nice one here)

Fair enough that it might not be her job but a bit of manners would of gone a long way. After an hour we got our stuff in, the venue is an actual closet, fitted with a stage and lights. It's easy enough to pack it out which is good but the up isn't worth the down with this place.

Locals were very openly using class A drugs in the toilets, as in VERY OPENLY. If you are a band bringing people to this venue then I would think twice because someone is going to get hurt here sooner or later.

You do not...
