People say this cafe serves delicious and fresh food. They highlight the reasonable prices and generous portions. They also like the friendly and helpful staff. Here’s a concise snapshot of The Breakout Cafe on Caledonian Road also known as “The Breakout” Typically open early in the morning for breakfast through. A classic Greasy Spoon cafe offering hearty full English breakfasts, Create your breakkie options, omelettes, brunch, lunch items, and pizza style dishes. Generous portions, quick and friendly service, no fuss: the atmosphere is casual, local, and clean. Pricing is generally reasonable, though a few reviews mention some dishes feeling slightly expensive compared to nearby cafes. Customers love the breakfast especially the customizable option where you pick components a la carte, e.g. eggs cooked perfectly, mushrooms well‑seasoned. On the downside, the coffee is reportedly instant so considered average by coffee aficionados. Food Safety Rating: The cafe was inspected on 28 June 2024, earning “Good” in all categories including food hygiene, cleanliness, facilities, and safety management from the Islington food authority. If you’re after a filling breakfast or brunch in a relaxed, no-frills London cafe especially in the Islington/Cally Road area The Breakout delivers hearty, well cooked dishes, fast service, and plentiful servings. It's an ideal spot for a traditional British breakfast with excellent value (just don’t expect barista‑level coffee).

Looooveeeeddd the Create Your Breakkie option! It was so delish and the prices are very reasonable too! I didn't tell clearly how I wanted my eggs done, because to me if they can serve me a perfect breakfast eggs without any details instructions, it means the breakfast place knows how to serve good breakfast. And ndeed they do! I specifically loved the mushrooms. It was cooked perfectly. The cuts were in the good size, not too small and not too big. And it's not too watery. The toasts, on the other hand, was my least favourite. It was ok, but I think it would be better if they put just a bit more butter on it. :) But overall, I'm fully satisfied and they deserve to get 5 stars from me!

... exhausting having to write negative reviews I happen very rarely (I prefer not to return to the place) however I find myself paying a breakfast 12.60 with: tomatoes beans an egg two slices of black pudding uns of fried bread no coffe no the ' unheard of price or it is a question of stealing money and ask the receipt they won't give it to me

Typical "English blokes" café! Builders, old school vets reading the papers. It was very loud but the service was brilliant, very friendly staff. Pay at counter and they bring your food to you. Generous portion sizes if you're going for a fryup - I was still full by dinner time. And, whoever the fellow was at the serving counter gave me a free coffee after my breakfast. I don't know if he does this all the time, or every now and again but I think that's really nice to show appreciation to your customers, like "you're our 20th customer of the morning. Have a free coffee". There's seating outside, if you wanna smoke, while earing and drinking. I'm only giving 4 stars because I'm not a fan of loud environments. I like peace and quiet but as I was waiting around for a couple of hours this seemed like a nice place to do that. If I'm ever in the area again, I will be going back.... Maybe I'll get a free...
