16july: Fish and chips are amazing! We also had onion rings which were made of real onions! not those made from flour. We had the buffalo wings. Everything was perfect. We sat in the beer garden after Covid-19. Social distancing was observed. You order food and drinks from online using your phone. The beer garden is relaxing and pretty. Will definitely keep going back and we can walk from our house. 4august: Taken 1 star off as length of service is inconsistent. This time our food took 50 minutes to get to us. We ordered the same things but we swapped the fish and chips for the beef pie - maybe the pie took 30mins more than a fish and chips? Or maybe more people decided to order food? The place was not filled with people yet when we arrived around 6pm on both occasions after lock down. Beef pie was only 3inches in circumference, 1.5inches in height. I was disappointed at first with the size and felt it was underwhelming after the long wait BUT dont be deceived by the size. It was packed with goodness and had quality beef meat. After the meal we agreed the food is still great and we were filled. We had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream after. It tastes alright but its not something we would get again. If you certainly need something sweet, this could get by.

First time visit on 03/07/24 when on a work trip and the prices and reviews looked appealing as did the external appearance. I waited for the 12pm opening time outside and had to ask when I could come in rather than being invited as the place was busy with a delivery and I was told to wait. After this the barman was perfectly friendly. Whilst waiting for my food I eyed up two good looking brioche burger plates in the distance on another table - reassuring. I ordered Chicken Parmigiana with extra onion rings which mostly looked pretty good as you can see from my picture except not the most fresh salad. Chips and onion rings were good however whilst working my way through the chicken I came across a stale off taste. Thinking it might just be that one bite l continued to eat but then I had to discard it, ruining the lunch experience. The chicken was listed as having Mozarella and Parmesan but it should not taste like this so had to leave it. It wasn't the blue cheese type of sauce taste you might have with wings but something else quite unpleasant. I raised it with the barman but all he could say was that the chicken was cooked last night hinting all should be fine so I let him walk away. I was not happy paying for the chicken so when leaving I approached him at the bar and had to ask if I'll be credited for the chicken I had barely eaten and wasn't happy with. He said he would refund it and I thoughtfully explained that the fries and onion rings were fine so I wasn't expecting a full refund. For good service I should have not had to ask for the refund but been offered it automatically but thank you for giving it just for the chicken. I expect further work trips to this area and unfortunately it seems I'll likely be more inclined to go elsewhere.

We had our wedding reception at The Brookmill. It was our local for years when we lived in Deptford so a sentimental choice for our big day! The venue is beautifully maintained and full of charm, which gave our reception the perfect backdrop. We also took the rooms upstairs, which were not only lovely and comfortable but incredibly convenient for us and our guests. The staff were incredible, from start to finish. They were warm, friendly, and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly and adding a special touch to the entire experience. They even accommodated our slightly quirky requests, like a crisp wall and a chip butty station, which were a massive hit with our guests! The chef worked with us to create a fully vegan menu which was delicious and well presented. Our guests, including the meat eaters, kept talking about how delicious it was. The presentation was on point, we left a few bits to decorate the tables and the team did a stunning job. Overall, the team went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We highly recommend The Brookmill, to anyone looking for a fantastic event venue. Thank you so much for making our day so special!

Have been looking forward to trying this pub out for a while and eventually got the chance one sunny Sunday afternoon. Overall first impressions were good, the pub is really nice inside however due to the weather we took advantage of sitting in the garden area. Not sure why but this seemed to lack atmosphere even there were lots of plants around. Drink selection was good but the food menu was very limited even for a Sunday. The roast was especially disappointing, only the beef comes with Yorkshire pudding however on asking they did say they would let us have one, not really sure it was worth asking as when it came it looked like one of the Aunt Bessie shop bought ones. At £17 for the beef roast and £15.50 for the chicken this was very expensive (and way overpriced for the quality) in comparison to other better pubs in the area. I would come back here for drinks but would eat elsewhere

Went here for a Sunday roast, nice local pub with easy parking nearby. Went for the mega roast, beef roast and lamb roast and cauliflower cheese. All dishes were well presented and stacked high, portions massive and plenty of meat. That Yorkshire though! There was a nice selection of vegetables that were cooked well, however the beef was overdone for my liking. It was neither pink nor tender, but the flavour was fine. Cauliflower cheese was super cheesy and moreish, would get again. Finished with bread and butter pudding which was slightly disappointing, it lacked sweetness and it wasn’t as soft or flavoursome as we expected. Next time we’ll go for the crumble instead. Service was great, very friendly and polite. Overall it is a bit pricy but you do get a lot of food if you go for any of the roasts, so its worth it as a treat. Just wish the meat was cooked rarer! But we’ll be back.

A real mixed bag here. My first visit but another person in the party lived close by and recommended it with the proviso that they had had great and terrible visits here. Our visit was not terrible. It was on New Years Day. The menu was marked Jan 2018 but even at 1.00pm on this first day not everything listed was available, so the fish-but-not-meat eating diners only had the veggie burger or Chilli Pasta to chose from as the fish on the menu was not available. My Beef hash was delicious and well presented, though not a hash but a slice of beef covering roast meal trimmings and topped with an egg. The staff were friendly and the small-brewery beers were tasty. The pricing was also sensible. Although the desserts read well, we were not confident that the descriptions would be any more accurate than they were for the beef hash, so opted to find our pudding elsewhere.
