NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first and last time, I will visit the restaurant. Booking for 20 people to celebrate my nieces birthday. All professionals I hasten to add. I genuinely don't believe they are used to a group booking, of this size. Stick to takeaways and your regular clientele. Rant over. Let me get back to what happened. The drinks order were promptly taken by a great waiter (I forgot to take his name). However when starter and Main courses were taken, there seemed to be just chaos and not a great deal of organisation and calm. 1 hour passed and then food started to arrive. Prior to that starter did arrive, I sent back my chicken dish as way too salty to be told well "everyone else's is the same, what would you like me to do with this" I said I am not everyone else and I cannot eat it. FIRST STRIKE
My youngest son who has severe allergies, ( he had his epi pen) with him. I alerted the waiter Prior to him ordering a lamb shank to make it as plain as possible and tell me the seasonings, usually on the lamb. I said make it as plain as possible- of which apparently he noted.
When food started to arrive it was served as if we were in a cattle market and I quickly went over to check on my sons order to ensure he received what was requested. When Main arrived full of sauce so I asked again to whom I now know was the manager ( absolutely rude and obnoxious), I will explain.... started to raise his voice at me saying " she keeps on asking all of the lamb dishes are the same", I kept my cool. However my 23 year old son stood up and challenged him as to why are you talking like that as we have a great concern for his brother/ my sons welfare due to his severe allergies... THIS WAS THE MANAGER CHALLENGING A PAYING CUSTOMER BTW..... STRIKE TWO...
I walked over and spoke to the original waiter ( the only good waiter) and expressed to him my dissatisfaction and if he is the manager and he doesn't know about the dangers of cross contamination in food and dietary requirements then you should not be in business- reminding him of the unfortunate young girl, who died after eating a pret sandwich!!!!!!
STRIKE 3 food was not hot in temperature when it arrived and to be honest as this was a celebration for my niece, it left me with a really bad taste in my mouth, this is the worst customer service I HAVE EVER RECEIVED.....
I will be escalating this to the owners of the restaurant. NOT THE MANAGER OF THE RESTAURANT WHO ARGUED WITH PAYING CUSTOMERS OVER A GENUNE LIFE OR DEATH DIETARY REQUIREMENT FOR A...
Read moreAsma Khan is an inspiration in my life as a Bengali woman who values the deep connection between food and identity. The dedication to culture, cooking and entrepreneurship was evident throughout my dining experience. Eating food that I grew up eating in my home as a child in a fine dining restaurant was both therapeutic and eye opening. The Kosha mangsho fell off the bone, and was clearly cooked with intricacy. The Bombay chili cheese toastie (one of Asma's childhood favourites) was simply delightful. Dipping the airy bread with cheese & fried onions in the perfectly herbed/citrusy coriander chutney left my mouth watering for days. I would recommend anyone visiting or living in London who is interested in experiencing Bengali food to come to this establishment. Finish the meal with Masala chai, and feel comfort and sweetness in your heart. 🩷🩷🩷 Thank you Asma, your restaurant is a beautiful feminist representation of Bengali food in the fine dining world...

Quite possibly the worst Indian food I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered a chicken dansak and what I received was sour, overcooked chicken that arrived cold. Absolutely disgusting.
The only reason I ordered from this place through Uber Eats tonight was because my regular go-to, Spice of Life, doesn’t sell cans of Coke. I was really craving one, so I thought, just for a change, I’d try something different. How wrong was I? Not only was the food awful, but the one thing I actually wanted — the can of Coke — never even arrived.
My usual, Spice of Life, is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever had, and this has just proved the lesson: stick to what you know. To make matters worse, I couldn’t even get a refund. Absolutely shocking....
