This place deserves zero stars. Pre booked a table for a small Christmas get together for last night. Let’s say no one will be returning back to this venue. Service - one of the worst services I’ve ever experienced. Bar girl with the dark hair had the worst attitude. Walking around behind the bar moaning that she’s the only there, was constantly on her phone voice noting whilst when pouring drinks and then sat on the side of the bar completely unaware that people were ordering drinks off the app. Had to wait 30 mins for our drinks to be made as we ordered off the app. She clearly didn’t see the ticket as we then had to get up to chase these. Note to the GM: if you’re going to have one bar staff on, make sure they’re someone who actually wants to be there with a welcoming attitude instead of telling everyone that her manager has just walked out/off. Food - where do we begin? I’d give it zero stars to be honest. Tried to order two dishes off the “rated plates” section. Let’s say you can’t rate the plates as they can’t even serve the dishes. We were told we can only order the mac and cheese from that section. Then chose the kaarage kid burger which we were told wasn’t available after paying for the burger (the chef in his football kit had to walk out of the kitchen to tell us this). They then made one for my colleague but with beef instead of chicken (wasn’t made aware that they would substitute this). Only the pizzas available. Considering it was a Tuesday night and we pre booked our table you’d think there be more food available but clearly not. The chef telling us the chicken is still frozen is not good enough given there are plenty of venues to choose from in Wimbledon. Also those tacos have to be the worst looking halloumi tacos in London. Cleanliness - We arrived at 6.30pm and sat there until 11.30pm. There were three tables near us who had finished and left. In the space of those FIVE HOURS not one table was fully cleared and sanitised which I find bizarre and uninviting. All in all, as a local business we won’t be coming back here as there’s plenty of other pubs and bars with much better service and food available.

Time of visit - 17:00 to 18:00 (weekday) This is a review of the Garratt & Gauge on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. The calm before the storm. The venue is big. Laid out quite like how the previous bar Edwards used to be but this is a sports bar. Really interesting decor, spacious and 2 pool tables. I believe there's also a Gamecube there! I can't speak for this place in the evening or for the bouncers as other reviews have but for an afternoon lunch I had a pleasant experience. The food was gorgeous. Food ordered was a stone baked pizza called 'Till we meat again'. Pepperoni, beef, and chicken with a small bowl of fries on the side. The pizza took a while to arrive but it was clear to see why when we got it. It was fresh. "One of the best pizzas I have had" The pizza was a shareable size and was extremely flavoursome. I will definitely be visiting again. The venue has a load of TV's playing sports and there feels there is a lot to do in this bar. I'd like to see it in a different light. Later on in the evening with far more people then the 3 that were in there during my review. Price - Decent. Pretty decent for the quality of the food. They had some really tempting desserts on the menu which you much look at but I'll save that for you to discover! As an afternoon lunch venue... It's a 5 * * * * * from me 😊

I appreciate the fact that they try to build a craft beer culture in the area but they have major issues with storing kegs and beer going off, it's not just a single event and it happens quite often. It actually was an untappd verified venue for craft beer but they gave up on that and probably they should give up on serving craft beer altogether if they can't serve at the quality it's supposed to be served. This is from Wednesday last week when I went with many work colleagues for drinks after work. I ordered a beer, Dennis poppr from Mondo, which was clearly off, sour flavour and very likely infected, the bartender started to argue that this is how it's supposed to be, even if I told him I know what I'm talking about and I had the beer multiple times. He replaced it with two tribes campfire which was clearly oxidised because of the off colour and cardboard falvour, at that point I just gave up. Also seen a colleague having Hepcat Bandit, which was the same, oxidised with off colour and cardboard flavour. The only drinkable beer was Neck Oil which is not really craft anymore. Just because most people don't care or don't know, as a bartender don't assume arogantly that you know better, because you clearly don't.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR FOOD!…

I had a dinner booking for two people. We ordered the seven cauliflower wings, and a sloppy no joe burger. The first time the order arrived, it was obvious both orders were wrong. The receipt also read that I was charged £3.25 for a Coke Zero, even though on the menu it specifies that Mon-Frid all day it’s only an extra 50p if you get it with a burger/pizza. The burger I ordered was plain other than some lettuce and mayonnaise. There was also no Bbq sauce which on the menu it says it is served with. The cauliflower wings were mushy and lukewarm.

I took the menu up to the bar and explained that I’d been given the wrong burger. I was told that there was a ‘system error’ so when you put any vegetarian/vegan burger into the till it reads ‘VEGGI SOYA BRG’ on the ticket. I explained what ingredients were missing from the burger and the response I got from the staff member was “I have no idea what that is” & “I don’t even think we have those ingredients in”. I was also told at the same time that the chef supposed to be working that evening was at a funeral and the person in the kitchen was “struggling”. I was then told to bring the burger back up to the bar and I would get the correct burger brought out to me.

The entire patty was rock solid like it had been charred. There was a smear of something not resembling ‘sloppy no joe’ on the bun, but aside from that it was identical to the burger I had previously been served. I went back up to the bar and explained the state of the food and was told the meal would be remade.

Because of this I left the chips to go cold as I assumed they were being remade also. They were not. I was brought out a new burger on a side plate. Whilst the patty itself was hot and palatable, the bun was stale and hard around the edges, and there was still nothing about the burger that resembled ‘sloppy no joe’. The chips weren’t remade so were freezing as they’d been sat there whilst I was going back and forth to the bar. Neither of our meals were finished and we left.

Still waiting for a refund over a...

If I could rate this place lower I would. I booked this table on the understanding that the two for one cocktails are all day everyday. This is clearly signposted on their app and website and even says it on the wall. However, it’s only two for one when they choose it to be (which it was not on this particular day) when this was challenged with the bar staff and the manager they said it is what it is, which is clearly false advertising.

Secondly when I booked the table for the 6 nations it gave me a promo of 25% off beer towers, when we got to the pub we were also informed that this offer is no longer available simply because they chose it not to be, once again false advertisement. The excuse used was that they “could not put it through the till”.

We ordered drinks and food on the app which was taken to the wrong tables several time and that’s if it even bothered to come out from the bar/kitchen. We ordered tacos which took over an hour and 30 minutes to come out. Even then they only came out after asking them 3 times for them.

The staff are rude and unhelpful and pass the blame onto the customer for ordering to the wrong table even after the receipt with the correct table order was shown.

As if this was not bad enough the signal to the sports kept cutting out throughout the game. How could you possibly advertise that you have all these things when you can’t pull through on one of them.

Terrible experience, terrible service and extremely overpriced. I would never return and I would strongly discourage anyone...
