Our recent visit to Tortilla left us with mixed feelings. While the food was satisfactory and the staff generally polite, we encountered significant challenges that impacted our overall experience.
Upon arrival, we were pleased to find a decent selection of dishes for our group of four adults and one child. However, our first disappointment arose when we requested assistance in heating a pot for baby food. The staff declined due to understandable food safety concerns, which we appreciated.
The real issue surfaced when we asked for a spoon. Shockingly, Tortilla did not have any disposable spoons available and could not provide a metal one either. This left us in a predicament, as our child needed a spoon to eat. Despite the courteous demeanor of the staff, their inability to accommodate such a basic request was disappointing and inconvenient.
Regrettably, we were compelled to seek help elsewhere and ventured to Franco Manca. Here, the manager, an Italian gentleman, exemplified exceptional hospitality by lending us a spoon without hesitation. His kindness and readiness to assist stood in stark contrast to our earlier experience at Tortilla.
While acknowledging that the staff at Tortilla may be relatively young, the lack of preparedness and inability to provide essential utensils like spoons was unacceptable. Customers should not have to face such inconveniences, especially when dining with young children.
In summary, Tortilla offers decent food with okay service, but their lack of basic provisions and preparedness for customer needs, particularly regarding young families, is a significant area for improvement. We hope that they address these shortcomings to ensure a more enjoyable dining...
Read moreNot very happy with the service i have received this time round .i know tortilla from the very beginning as I was there when Brandon started the very first Islington store .it has been an amazing journey and hands down the best burritos in town. But last few visits to tortilla wimbledon has been really disappointing. If i talk about today 15th of January 2022 service was not good the store was fairly busy and when i placed the order for 2 naked burritos and asked for the mixed peppers they told me that they don't have any more i told them that i don't mind waiting but they told me that they won't be cooking any more as it is only an hour and half left to close . Samething with the chicken my portion of chicken was reduced to make up another order .as another delivery order required chicken . When asked about guacamole dip i was told that they can only make a small dip as they run out of guacamole aswell . my question is if you have an hour and half left to close the store on Saturday night (which is fairly busy in store and delivery) are you going to tell your customers that you are run out of main products like chicken ,mix peppers and guacamole. I am sure somehow business will suffer and you will disappoint alot of customer as if they would have told me that there is no guacamole ,mixed peppers or chicken i wouldn't have bought my burritos from this branch. I feel bad to leave this review as i love tortilla but something has to be done to stop this kind...
Read morePossibly the worst recent experience in a restaurant. I took my fiance for a quick bite after work as this place is local to us. It was empty and we became suspicious but we were hungry and decided to stay. The service was shocking. When I was asked what meat I want my tacos with, I replied that I want all three types (with each of my three tacos). They started laughing and I asked why. They said they have 4 types of meat. What is the forth one, I asked back. Steak meat, they replied. They put the music up so loud we couldn't hear anything but swear words and "N" words. One of the staff was sweeping the floor next to us while proudly telling his female colleague, who was standing behind the desk, how he can't wait to go to Los Angeles to a strip bar...We are in our thirties and pretty open-minded but this was a really unpleasant atmosphere. Anyway, we quickly finished the average food and left. We will...
