Decided to visit this Decided to visit this place for breakfast on Sunday 10/11/19 as it has been recently renovated and we wanted to check out the new ambience. Honestly speaking the place is done up really well and my wife and me really loved it.

But that ends there! The service is lot to be desired for.!

My wife ordered Veg breakfast and myself full English. We paid at the bar and made ourself comfortable at the table. Finally the breakfast arrives after a while... no complains about that what what was surprising was that that the has browns were missing and instead we were given normal fries which we never asked for? I quickly went to the bar to inquire and I was told by the same lady staff who took my order that cause they didn’t have hash browns they changed it with fries there was no sign a being apologetic! Not that it’s a big issue but as a customer I feel I had to informed about this and made aware at the time of sale . Cause I think I ought to get what I paid for and what is advertised! I just let it go as a minor mistake and returned back to my table. As we start to eat we notice the toast were not buttered!! So I had to walk back again to the bar let the staff know and this time the lady apologised and quickly brought me 2 cubes of butter in a bowl. Returned Quickly to my table as I was so eager and hungry for my breakfast! As We start again! We noticed something else missing! Yes we were a bit sleepy and absent minded being it a lazy Sunday morning and couldn’t notice all this in one glance😂 So we quickly checked the menu again and voila!!! The mushrooms were missing!! So again we go to the bar this time my wife! They quickly apologise and bring us some mushrooms in a bowl after about 5 mins. Frankly speaking the breakfast wasn’t bad and for the price can’t complain. But they just need to improve on customer service cause just improving the ambience alone doesn’t contribute to the business customer service is key. I would definitely go back to this place hoping for a better...

When I walked in for an evening pint, the barmaid said that all the beer (by which she meant the fizzy lagers) was off because the cooler was broken.

I asked her about the hand-pulled real ales (namely, Hobgoblin and Fuller's London Pride), which she appeared not to recognise and which she said were off.

I asked her when they had gone off, in response to which she rudely shrugged her shoulders and referred me to her manager[ess], who was sitting in a sofa in the bar with her laptop; she said that in fact the Hobgoblin was on.

I asked her when the London Pride had gone off.

She shrugged-off the question but said, "We need to connect it to the pipes."

Thinking to myself, "Well get out of your chair and do it, then," I said, "That's not good for a pub, is it?"

She replied, referring now back to the fizzy lagers, "The coolers have broken so it's out of our hands."

I reminded her that it was her pub; bade them both good night and left.

By contrast, the Wetherspoons pub up the road is excellent: the staff provide an excellent service and clearly take a pride in doing so. As a result, it had customers, quite a few actually and all satisfied. Besides they sell Ruddles Best @ £1.47 a pint!

I might go into The George again (before it goes out of business), not to buy anything but rather to have a laugh at how well spectacularly clueless, idle, uninterested, surly staff can destroy their...

If I could rate it a zero I would. Went for lunch here with my 2 daughters and my partner. I went to the bar to order the food. The barmaid serving spent more time talking to her colleague and had to keep asking me what I had ordered. After ordering I went back upstairs to our table and waited for the food to arrive. The drinks were of very bad quality and very expensive. A member of staff then approached my table and ask did I order food to a different table number which I answered no. I ordered the food to the table I was sitting at. He then repeated told me that I was wrong even though he was not the person who took my order. He came back with my daughters food and continued to be rude telling me that next time he will give my food to someone else and to go and get my own cutlery. At this point I was so angry. I didn’t even want the food. I immediately spoke to a female manager who was very apologetic. I asked for a refund and was given one. The female manager was very professional and treated us well. This is the only good thing I have to say about this establishment. Also was told that the staff member who was mixed race with braces would be reprimanded for his behaviour and terrible customer service. I would not ever step foot in this place again. Not even if...

I moved in 2 weeks ago to Harrow on the Hill. I've started coming to the Gorge on Fridays and Saturday evenings for a drink. This is one of the best pubs I've ever been in the UK. Very nice atmosphere and a great staff team, Especially Magda, who was so nice, professional and friendly. She was creating an amazing atmosphere, knowing what to propose. Must have a lot of experience. I'll be a permanent client of the pub!! Well deserved 5 stars!!

Very spacious, good wheelchair access & facilities. ♿✔ New menu with wide range of pub foods, lighter meals, drinks and cocktails.🥗🥧🍨☕🍺🍹✔ Good atmosphere, snug arears, lounge seating, big screen tv's. Visited on a Monday morning for brunch. Place was almost empty but clean. Atmosphere is a blend of old/modern. Gives the impression of being an old pub + sports bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. No parking in the street as it's a busy road but you can find parking nearby. Food was good, we had English breakfast. One negative side of it: no black pudding, which should be part of it by tradition. Would visit again.
