Flavourful Halal Seafood & West African Delights in Harrow

We had a brilliant family dinner at Every Fish Bar in Harrow, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Everything served is halal, which was a huge plus for us.

We began with two standout starters. The Panko fried prawns were golden, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside – perfectly fried with a light crunch. The beef suya was a revelation. This West African street food classic came marinated in a dry rub of bold spices, then grilled to smoky perfection. It was my first time trying suya, and I was seriously impressed, spicy, savoury, and packed with flavour.

For mains, the kids enjoyed their fish and chips, and I could see why. The fish was fresh, flaky, and coated in a light, crispy batter. The chips were chunky, well-seasoned, and not greasy, a simple dish done really well.

I ordered the jerk chicken with jollof rice, which was another winner. The chicken was grilled with a rich, smoky jerk seasoning that had a mild kick, and the skin was slightly charred and crispy. The jollof rice was vibrant and full of tomato and spice – perfectly cooked with that slightly smoky flavour that makes it so addictive.

But the dish of the evening belonged to my wife, the chilli fish. It arrived sizzling, coated in a thick, spicy sauce that brought serious heat without overpowering the fish. The balance of spice and flavour was spot on, and the fish itself was cooked just right, tender and juicy with a crispy exterior. She also ordered a side of plantains, which were sweet, caramelised on the outside, and melt-in-the-mouth soft. They were the perfect complement to the spicy fish.

One fun touch was spotting Nigerian Fanta in the fridge, if you know, you know! It’s sweeter and more citrusy than the regular version, and drinking it with this kind of meal just felt right. A real nostalgic treat and highly recommended.

The service was excellent throughout our visit. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and checked in regularly to make sure we were enjoying our meal without ever being intrusive.

The vibe was casual but clean and well-maintained, making it a great place for families or anyone looking to enjoy bold, well-seasoned dishes that go beyond the usual fish and chips offering.

Absolutely terrible customer service I am mortified by their lack of professionalism. I’ve ordered from them a few times now, their food is pretty good but my last visit was horrible. I visited their shop in Harrow, I ordered one small chips, one large and one Haddock. Prior to this, I ordered my selection over the phone. The lady who took my order has got some serious attitude problems. When I arrived she gave me some cheek about me being late and that she would have to redo my order. Whilst I was waiting I paid the lady and asked for THREE BURGER SAUCES!!! She looked at me, repeated my request to which I also reiterated then she slowly walks off to retrieve my sauces. I pay her and supposedly she put the sauces in my bag. Upon leaving i thanked her but she had her back turned responding to me with a rude tone of voice. Funny, I observed how she treated other customers with her attitude but no one else received such contemptuous treatment apart from me. When I arrived home i was shocked and livid to discover that she had only given me one BURGER SAUCE WHEN I ASKED FOR THREE! So she deliberately snuck one burger sauce in my bag, gave me the correct change because I didn’t check nor did I realise I had only paid for one! I called her up immediately as I knew she would answer the phone. I asked to speak to a manager but she kept stalling, acting as if she was the superior person that I should address regarding my complaint. She refused to give information on when the manager would be available. So she withheld vital information as well as being rude even potentially hostile on the phone. This is very bad customer service in my entire life I’ve never experienced such dreadful treatment from someone who is supposed to be professional. I really need my burger sauces to go with my food, when I ask for THREE I expect THREE not one! This is terrible and I ended throwing the food away because it’s just not the same without my burger sauce. I will take this further because me and my family are extremely upset with their lack of professionalism. This particular lady who works there should be fired. She manipulated me, denied my request, deceived me, lied to me, I am actually traumatised. I will take this further to resolve she will not be allowed to get away with this. HANDS DOWN THE BEST FISH BAR THIS END OF LONDON!

Love this shop not only for the fresh and good quality food but also because of their great customer service. The owner is very polite and just wants to provide the best customer service experience.

I prefer ordering in the shop but even when I order through UberEats I've never had an issue with the food and it always arrives fresh n hot.

They have all the traditional standard fish, chips & the trimmings but also have some amazing African/Caribbean fusion dishes

Some of my faves are the jollof (obviously),peppered chips with suya wings/peppered fish but I'm also known to order a few battered sausages, chips and burgers 😅

Honestly I just wanted to say thank you to the owner/amazing staff who have always been respectful and they really do only give you the best food. If I can't be bothered to cook I know where to come for some good food.

UPDATE 13/09/21 - ALL I CAN SAY IS "PERFECTION"

I still order when I'm in the area and have travelled quite a few times to Harrow just to have your food🔥 I've had it 3 times this week and can only thank you guys again for providing such good food which is also good on your body! I've never had a bad experience nor felt bad after eating here - I have IBS unfortunately so I can't enjoy many takeaways but from seeing your shop in person there's no doubt in my mind how seriously you take your business. I wish you had more locations around London and may you open many if that's what you want to do🙏🏻 but until then you will still make me travel all the way from East for some real grub!
