I attended with my family (7 adults, 6 kids eldest is 6) on the am of 24/08/2025 for breakfast. We were greeted initially by Colin who promptly got us sorted with a large table. He helped park up the two pushchairs & made sure there was adequate high chairs (3 needed). We’ve been to our local Wetherspoons before (Felix Holt, Nuneaton) so know our way around ordering on the app. However, Colin happily ran through the necessaries including what to do if there were any dietary requirements, or simple preferences/changes that anyone might want to make to their breakfast. Following this his staff were very efficient in getting the drinks out to us, and again when bringing the food out. Despite the large family, all of our orders were correct, all were served in less than 15mins, and all were hot! Couldn’t really ask for anything more from a full English breakfast. Colin was more than helpful at the end too with some advice regarding the tube and even recommended a good local park to take the kids to as an alternative (we did end up doing the sightseeing instead due to the 6yr olds request) I don’t often leave reviews, but on this occasion I felt that above & beyond was achieved, so credit to Colin and his staff & thank you. Not everyone is so welcoming with such a big group especially with young kids! Only other thing to note is we parked in a multi-storey directly opposite. As it was a Sunday it was £3.80 all day (Carpark...
Read moreMy recent visit to Wetherspoons left much to be desired. I opted for their traditional breakfast, hoping for a satisfying start to my day. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my expectations.
The eggs served with the breakfast were disappointingly soggy, lacking the desired texture and taste. It was a letdown, as a well-prepared egg can make a significant difference in the overall enjoyment of a breakfast meal.
Adding to the disappointment was the lack of cups for hot beverages. It's surprising that a well-established establishment like Wetherspoons would run out of cups, leaving patrons with no choice but to use takeaway paper cups. Not only did this compromise the experience, but it also contributed to unnecessary waste, which I found disheartening.
On a positive note, the ambiance and service were acceptable, and the staff was friendly. However, these positives were overshadowed by the culinary and service shortcomings.
In the future, I hope Wetherspoons addresses these issues to maintain their reputation as a reliable choice for a decent meal and service. Until then, I might think twice before returning for another meal. There are other dining options in the area that may offer a more satisfying...
