I had the pleasure of being served by Salauddinn throughout the time at The Grand, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. He exuded a perfect blend of professionalism and warmth, making us feel incredibly welcome. We were very hungry and it was too late! The restaurant closes at 11pm and we were 5 people with kids! One of the waiter was saying that they were closed but he allowed us even after closing time! Their menu knowledge was impressive, and their recommendations were spot-on, enhancing our dining choices. (Mainly Italian). But the could have soup as well! Throughout the meal, he displayed remarkable attentiveness, ensuring our glasses were always full and our needs met without being intrusive. What truly stood out was their ability to anticipate our requests. Their friendly demeanor and engaging conversation added a personal touch that made the evening unforgettable. He went above and beyond to make our dining experience extraordinary, showcasing a genuine passion for their work. Their outstanding service was the highlight of our visit to this restaurant, and I can't wait to return, knowing that the waiter will undoubtedly make every visit special.

Very odd place. We wanted some cake and noticed to eat in was half the price again on top of the takeaway price... so you expect its on the service right? Took 10 mins to get drinks ordered then another 20 for the cake order in that time the drinks hadn't even been prepped. I got an iced tea which was meh and not worth the price. My partner got the sea green which was ok but no booze in it and I don't drink so if there was spirits in it I would have felt it. My fruit tart was so good but not worth the additional cost when it was served as it would be to go, just with a plate too. My partner orders the salted caramel cheese cake and it took until after I had tucked into mine for them to tell us there wasn't any salted caramel left... It was all a bit meh and they kept cramming people into the middle of the room when there was enough space to space us out. It wasn't good and felt so strange to share less that a metre of a gap to get out.

I walk by this place everyday which looks quite magnanimous, and finally decided to come on a weekend to have their breakfast. It's no doubt a beautiful setting. The menu has quite appealing pictures of the food and the prices seem reasonable. But... wait until the food actually arrives. I finally understood how they make money despite the 'reasonable' prices vs. great decor and location - the serving size is laughably small, more like a kid's menu. One hash brown, one small toast etc when you buy full English breakfast. To be fair food is not bad taste-wise. What I really didn't like was the fact that photos in the menu were gross misrepresentation of the actual food that arrives to your table. Visit if you fancy the place but keep in mind you might need to visit a nearby Pret or so immediately afterwards. Also the staff (especially the manager-like lady) could do much better in terms of politeness and bring generally welcoming.

This place was horrible i have experienced the worst ever service here this restaurant needs to be shut down immediately in london,Firstly I have went to this stupid place today with my Auntie My mother And my uncle and my cousins,my aunt has ordered spaghetti and i have ordered a fish and chips the rest of my family weren’t very hungry but anyway, our food came after 15 minutes it was a good time limit until the spaghetti came first,it was a big portion so my aunt asked for a smaller one or a kids meal maybe, the rudest and most horrible and most cruel waiter said “it’s okay it’s fine if ur hungry afterwards u can shove ur stomach with some cake” now this is very rude this waiter was actually the manager he was an indian man,in my opinion he doesn’t deserve to be a manager or a waiter or a chef he deserves to be a cleaner! After my aunt asked for a smaller portion and he said that cruel thing my aunt asked for another waiter to come and serve us,what did this horrible not raised man said,he said im the only one here and this isn’t a way u should talk to people ur rude,he just called and insulted my auntie so he just left. Now here is the most Ugliest and most disgusting thing happened,Me a 13 year old boy i went to the counter inside as we were sitting outside i asked this cruel man for my bill and i said i was sorry for how my aunt reacted because my aunt was a bit mean what did he say to me? he told me to shut up and he said i don’t serve people like you.. i left the shop told my family and my uncle came and was about to slap him he pushed him towards the wall and said who are u to say shut up u horrible man im not paying for this bill! he said would u say shut up to ur son! and there was a whole scene and he said im sorry to me i said no i don’t accept ur dirty apology! u deserve to be a cleaner not a manager u cruel man! and we told him we aren’t paying the bill then he said he’ll call the police then we told him we dare u to call him we dare you and then he just went and then we continued to speak to him more and we spoke with him with a loud and we screamed at him so much he even begged for an apology,we pairs the bill,we gave no tips no service charge and just left, after all we had to pay because without paying would be worse and many bad things would happen. In my opinion me and my family had to scream at him for his attitude and his ugly behavior he deserves to be fired and never work a day in his life with his long and bad tounge,he is a mean and rude cruel man,i will never step foot into that restaurant again, the food was not fresh at all and the atmosphere was so bad everything dirty and we didn’t enjoy as much, service not even 1,service should be 0.infinity,this place is horrible don’t ever go there unless u want problems with that horrible man or unless u want ur child to be called by a waiter shut up even though he was saying sorry, what a horrible man! may god never...

I really can't say much good about this place. Myself and my fiance were spending one last night in Picadilly Circus before going home to the States. We spotted The Grand and saw that it was empty. A red flag we should have heeded, for what followed was a 90 minute dining experience that I can only assume was titled "Make These Two People Regret Coming Here."

We were sat immediately, and we were overjoyed, as we had spent about 8 hours touring the city at this point. We were then left with menus for about twenty minutes without interaction from the staff at all, until my fiance deliberately made eye contact with one of them just to get our drinks ordered.

Their menu presented well! I ordered an iced mocha with soy milk! Sadly, what came to the table was a glass of iced milk with chunks of undissolved Nesquik powder floating about it. Perhaps there was a promotion with the Nespresso store next door I didn't know about, but I was too astounded at how awful it was to ask.

Then we ordered food! We shared the fried calamari (brave, I know, considering how things have gone thus far), but it was actually very good once it arrived at our table, one of the 4 occupied in the area, seventeen minutes later (I'd begun timing at this point).

Now, the real tragedy. I say tragedy not out of pretentiousness for a love of food, but because the staff here lied to me. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwhich without tomato. It came with tomato. Normally, I would pick it off and eat the sandwhich, but the travesty of the "Iced Choco Powder And Milk Splendairè" as I've come to call it in my head caused me to put my foot down. The second the plate hit the table, I said "Excuse me, I ordered this without tomato, if you would please," and handed the plate back.

Eleven minutes later (again, timing), I was brought back the same sandwhich, the tomatoes rigorously removed and their seeds and imprints in the melted cheese left behind, and the same fries (now cold) the sandwhich came with.

My fiancé's food was fine. She ordered a mushroom pasta dish. I had a few bites. It was alright if a bit undercooked.

And that pleasure cost us ~€94 (sandwhich left on the bill). I would have made a bigger deal of it all, but as I said, 8 hours spent prior to this misadventure exploring the city. I was tired.

I warn you all. Stay away from this place. There are hundreds of food options just around the various corners. Go to them instead.

We went to Italian Bear - SOHO for dessert. ...

We were a big fan of Caffe Concerto until last weekend. We've walked-in to this restaurant with the same expectation of great food & service but we were so wrong this time. We were seated and orders taken on time. They've served the wine but forgotten our request for tap water. After 15mins, we have to ask one of the waiters for the water. As we are waiting for our food, we can see that atleast three of your staff members are busy talking to one of your lady staff (seems like she's there on her day off); male staff going back & forth to speak to her but none of them even tried letting us know that our food will be delayed. The manager (not sure) who seated us went on a break; sat in front of the lady colleague; finished his break and we are still waiting for our food. After 45mins or so, we asked for our food and the waiter went to follow up. He went back to us saying that the food is coming. Another 5mins gone, no food and we noticed that the customers from the other table who came after us had their food served. We then asked again, the waiter said that the food we ordered will take atleast 20-25mins to prepare. We told him that it's been more than 45mins that we were waiting. We've decided to just pay for the drinks and leave as we cannot go on another waiting game. The waiter kept on saying that the food is ready but no food is being served. We asked for the bill and handed us with service charge on it. Really? With all your staff available that night, no one bothered to check on us unless we asked. They were so laid back and no proper customer service...
