I had the most worst experience at this park cafe and the owner was incredibly rude and petty. Not only was the service extremely slow, half the items on the menu were not available. I was with three children and they had little to no options to choose from. When I eventually got to the front of the line I asked for an iced mocha which was poorly made with little ice and did not look appetising and when I had a sip the milk tasted slightly sour. When I explained that didn’t want to buy it because of the look and taste the shop keeper refused to sell me any of the other several items that we wanted to purchase. To be honest I do not know the purpose of this cafe being here as there are pretty much no items, the service is beyond poor and and what is there is of a very low standard. Save your time and your money!

Love this place and come here weekly to meet up with some mum friends as our kids play with the toys. A very good menu of sandwiches, soup and cakes as well as the usual teas and coffees with milk alternatives available. It's a cafe with toilets, toys and food and drink, a nice big space for the kids to run around and play in - it's not softplay just a place with toys. No entry fee like other play cafes where you have a book a time slot etc. As it's next to the lovely park and lake we always go for a walk round afterwards. I wish there were more places like this.

We hired here for a children’s birthday party. Quite good venue but very echoey so makes noise of children very loud. Good kitchen, children’s tables and chairs. Very little parking. On street free but hard to find a space at weekends.

I regularly visit The Lakes Cafe with my children and we always enjoy it. The coffee is great and cakes are delicious. They also have some very reasonably priced lunch options. The cafe has plenty of space for kids to roam around and play with the many toys provided. If you have young children and need an easy place to hang out during the day or somewhere to meet up with friends (or make new friends!) this is your place. Combine with a walk around the lake to feed the ducks, run around on the field next to the cafe or visit to the nearby playground. Thank you Mel for providing this welcoming, friendly...
