Honestly I was so pleased with this place! It’s quite rare to drink in such a large, imposing, historical building like this. Most of this size are really bad chains to Wetherspoons, so it’s awesome to have something like this in the neighbourhood.
The choice of draft beer was excellent! Something for everyone & when I say everyone I mean, the regular lads on the street that want to have a pint with mates. Right the way through to the more trend led people ie the pale ale & ipa drinkers. The crowd has super diverse, everyone behaved, the atmosphere was awesome.
We didn’t eat but we went onto have wine, the mid priced to entry prices red & whites were super good. You know in pubs sometimes, the wine is like petrol & your head doesn’t thank you for it in the morning. This wasn’t the case here at all…..which is a huge relief.
The staff also were lovely, some definitely more chatty & confident than others, but everyone was extremely pleasant. They have done such a great job of this place, the plant room is beautiful…..we had window & original features envy the entire time!!
We would definitely return, next time with our dog as it’s dog friendly....
Read moreCalled into the Leyton Engineer last night, as this site has just opened after a refurbishment and we were not disappointed. Stunning building from the exterior to the interior (photos attached) My partner had the Litovel Premium, a Czech lager (and had another) and I tried the beavertown satellite which is a low abv session ipa with loads of floral and citrus fruits. After loooking at the menu we decided to both have Burgers, 1 beef and the other chicken. Both had ample servings of chips and again, we were not disappointed. We were going to have dessert but will leave that for our return. We found the staff to be very attentive and knowledgeable with the offerings of a great choice of beers and wines. We will definitely be going back again to the Leyton Engineer for...
Read moreHappy to report that the revamp is gorgeous. I really like that this large space has been used to cater to different needs, some little nooks, some big tables, then a chilled pub/bar space and a more formal restaurant on the right. You could go as a group of friends, or with visiting family (although I think kids only allowed in the restaurant area in the evening), plus there's the Club Room which had darts, pool etc. The decor is smart but inviting, there's ambience but it wasnt too loud. In terms of food - staff were attentive, efficient and kind, food was delish (especially the small plates - recommend the beef teriyaki) and all came out in good time despite being a busy night. Generally good vibes all round. Chuffed this is...
