KAPTURE (Cocktail bar, Restaurant, Event venue, Leyton) — Restaurant in London

Poor, poor experience at my first and only visit to Kapture.

1 - Rude staff. I don't know if they were new but they clearly didn't know what they were doing.

2 - Drinks prices. Over priced and inconsistent. No drinks prices available and different prices being charged at different bars. Paid £31 for 2 single drinks. It is Leyton East London, not the friggin West End !

3 - Air Conditioning. Didn't work and one can only think that it actually did work but they left it off so people can pay those stupid drinks prices in the sweatbox downstairs.

Those were just 3 of the main issues during my visit to Kapture and my suggestion to anyone reading this is to stay away from this venue. They clearly need to look at themselves because this is one of the WORST venues I have been to and I hope that they learn from this and improve before it is too late !

Absolutely dreadful, ordered 2 drinks. After 15 mins of taking my order the waiter comes back to inform me they need to change the barrel, so I changed my order. After a further 10 mins the waiter comes back and tells me that they don't have ginger beer. So a total of 25 mins to decide whether they have the drinks to fulfill my order (I had probably been sitting there over 30 mins by this point) this accompanied by atrocious dance music at 6pm on a Wednesday meant I declined my first beer since lockdown and elected to have one at home! I would understand if they were busy (sort of) but they had about 12 people in total sat down outside. Bit of a shame, place looked like it could be quite nice. I think they are going to have an absolute meltdown when they open up and have guests...

Underrated venue in Leyton. Food was delicious, good portion sizes, great prices, and a reasonable drink selection too (which aren't watered down 😉).

They also offer shisha if you're keen.

Spoke to the manager too, who was very lovely and has a lot of plans for the venue, including frequent events.

The venue itself has an upper level and a lower level, with outside seating too when it's warmer. I'd describe the decor as classy and it feels like a great hangout spot for after work drinks or just catching up with friends. Downstairs has another room which has to club-like vibes or could be used for private bookings/parties as it has its own bar.

Definitely a place worth going to and one to look out for. Could see it really becoming one of East Londons better...
