Ok, the easiest way to explain it is this.. You're here to see the Mayor. It was my wifes 40th birthday and we booked ahead of time. I booked online and requested the date (a Saturday 24th Feb @ 8pm), length of time needed at the table (you get either 1hr or 1hr30m). A responce back didn't take long! Assuming the popularity of this venue, it is clear to see why you only get a certain time. Dress code: Casual, no need to dress fancy, but I'm sure it would be super cool if you did! We entered (I'm sure by now you may of seen the "secret" and don't need me to explain), and straight away the atmosphere hits you, along with admittedly some claustraphobia. It doesn't take long for that to disappear as straight away you are greeted by the team ready for the shennanigans to start, I advise you download the menu and be ready with your demands as again, this place is fast. What seemed like no effort needed we had our cocktails, I had the aristrocat and my wife had um, something I can't remember, they were amazing (see pictures). We ordered food, and that was just as fast. Menu-wise, it's a simple no messing food affair, reminisant of back home flavors and quick-bite convinence, again please prepare so you can make the most out of this place. Music-wise I felt like I was transported to an almost late 80s miami with a loud mixture of disco and funk, perfect for something so niché and secretive! Absorbing the vibe from the decor and grandure, it is a place of mystery and intrigue, perfect for people who need to get away from the super indulgent high priced popularised glamour of the upper world and its skyscrapers. Here I believe is one of the best parts; when you are at your table, glasses of water are topped up continually for you to drink as often as you can/want. This helps you enjoy the cocktails and keep yourself from getting a little too hammered, albiet it also helps maintain the possible hangover the next day. I can safely say that if every bar/resturant did this, we would more than likely have a better imprint of welfare for those that don't really have a threshold for maximisation. All in all did we enjoy it? The Mayor Of Scardey Cat Town is simply brilliant, an awesome concept of mystery and discovery. I personally, needed to pick a place that appealed to my wifes more introvertial/casual mindset and to not feel out of place in a city so draped in asthetics, TMOSCT gave us just that. We will be back, you can bet...

Wonderfully hidden away in the back of ‘The Breakfast club’ on Artillery Lane, lies this little gem of a cocktail bar.

Like all ‘secret bars’ the whole idea is an oxymoron, but the feeling you get when walking into one is still a feeling of excitement. Walking into the Breakfast Club we were met by a young woman, and as advised by the bar’s website we asked “to see the Mayor”. The entrance to the bar didn’t disappoint as a near authentic looking Smeg fridge which, when opened, leads downstairs to the bar.

Once inside you notice how small the area is, but frankly that seemed to add to the character and charm of the whole place. Looking around it seems there is space for roughly 40 or so people.

We were just there for drinks, but the food on offer did smell & look good as it was shuffled around by the staff to the customers.

We sat at two of the four chairs at the bar. The prices for cocktails all start from a reasonable £8 and include ‘short’, ‘long’ and champagne cocktails.

The drinks we initially went for were excellent, and sitting at the bar was particularly good whilst watching the barmen perform the dark arts of cocktail crafting.

We did see as we left that there were great deal of people waiting up stairs for the opportunity to go and soak up some of the Scaredy Cat charm, so I’d recommend you arrive between 5 and 6pm – they don’t take bookings at all.

Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to this classy joint; it’s a perfect place to...

This is a really cool speakeasy, located inside a Breakfast Club. The "secret" door is their Smeg fridge! The inside is not very large, but with reservation, we had no issue getting a table. It was an early weekday evening, so they were not busy just yet.

We started off with Hangman’s Daughter cocktail and Flower Power cocktail. They were well crafted, strong, and flavorful with great aroma. We enjoyed them both.

We were there for some food too, so we put in some plates to share. We got Chicken Nuggets, Disco Fries, and Nachos. Nuggets were juicy and tasty, fries and nachos were big in portion, packed with flavor. They disappeared off the plates quickly!

We moved onto House above Clouds cocktail and Sencha Siesta cocktail. House above Clouds was sweet and banana-y, great drink! Sencha Siesta was not as strong, almost like flavored water to me.

The staff here were really nice and friendly. They gave us nice recommendations on drinks. They not only had good drinks, but the food were great too. We had such fun time!

One thing to note: You should never depart via the fridge. Instead, you need to leave by the door on the left at the top of the stairs. This leads you to the bathroom upstairs, for Breakfast Club patrons. It said to “Act nonchalantly as if you’ve just had a pee."

Oh, one last thing, If your name is ‘Garfield’ you will receive one free drink upon valid proof of identity. How funny...

We visited as part of my partner's 30th birthday trip. It's safe to say, I have never been to a boozier brunch. They leave the pitchers/bottles on the table for you so you can plow through bottle after bottle of prosecco or gallons of cocktails without having to do that annoying thing that you do with most bottomless brunches where you wait 20 minutes for someone to come back to you and top up your glass. The menu is fantastic, I had the avocado and mojo picon and it was one of the nicest breakfasts I've had in a very long time. The staff were really lovely, smiley and friendly and very attentive. We found the staff at the breakfast club upstairs to be a bit more stressed out because there was a huge queue but we were able to skip the queue because we had booked for The Mayor and not for the standard breakfast club restaurant. It felt really exclusive and lots of the people in the restaurant were surprised to see us disappearing inside a fridge! I would definitely recommend this activity, it's great value for money, good for couples or groups and the food is brilliant.
