A white goat stood above the clamour of the street below atop of a pillar of packing case boxes. Not a clue who it's by or when it was installed. Said to represent persecuted immigrants who fled and settled in Spitalfields over the past 300yrs... The goat symbolises the beast of persecution.

Yes it's a life-size statue of a goat on a pile of boxes. It makes a change from memorials to long-dead kings and warriors I suppose. More pertinently the area is currently host a number of life-size elephant statues and those really are impressive. They all certainly make the area more interesting and...
