The pub is in a renaissance era, all due to the new management. The food is fantastic and to be honest, I am unsure of many places in Hammersmith or indeed London where you can get a steak frites for this amount of money, its quite cheap. I pray to god they don’t read this review or else they will raise the price. They serve a combination of classic British pub food and Polish food which is a fantastic combination as they work together better than you might think. I mean, who hasn’t been in Krakow just feeling the need for fish and chips and some pierogi, but you can’t find it! I know I have been in this situation along with possibly only like two other people but it felt serious to me at the time, and its less of a joke than it sounds; the only chippy in Krakow closed down seven years ago. Anyway to cut the rant, back on topic; on top of this slavish praise they also showed the F1 Grand Prix which is rare in pubs but desperately wanted in London. So if you want some F1, or football on the screen, a fresh Guinness and some steak, schabowy or chips, look no further. The jazz nights and other entertainment will bring back this local institution, so I recommend it (if you can’t...
Read moreBeen going to this pub since I was younger along with my family. Recently been taken over by new management and have seen how empty and lacking atmosphere it has been over the last few months. On one occasion we went into the orchard after attending the local church as we have done for years. There were certain drinks that weren’t available and when we asked we were pretty much told that they are trying to change the clientele and vibe. In other words we weren’t welcome. About 2 weeks ago on 29th June me and my family had just left church for my nans 2nd anniversary mass, I was desperate for the toilet and by this point the church was now shut. I quickly ran up to the orchard and asked to use the toilet there were about 3/4 customers in the whole of the pub (now I know why) and when I asked the lady behind the bar bluntly asked “are you going to buy anything” I said no and was about to explain I was desperate and that we had to be at the cemetery before it shut. The lady was so rude and said NO whilst starring at me blankly. I couldn’t believe this once lovely, family orientated pub has now become somewhere I wouldn’t dream of going in again....
Read moreWe’ve been coming here regularly and honestly, it just keeps getting better. The food is consistently great proper portions, full of flavour, and really well priced. Our absolute favourite has to be the steak… it’s always cooked perfectly and never disappoints!
They also show all the football and F1, which is a huge win for us as there is a brilliant atmosphere on match days!
What really makes this place stand out though are the owners. They’re genuinely some of the kindest, most welcoming people you’ll meet. You can tell they really care about the place and their customers.
They also host great events we’ve been to one of their jazz nights and a cocktail night, both were such good fun with amazing music! We feel incredible lucky to have somewhere local that does more than just the usual.
All in all, it’s just one of those places you feel lucky to have nearby. Always a good time, and we always look forward to going back! We cannot...
