🚇 Elephant & Castle 🍺 £4.95 Moretti ❤️ A welcoming backstreet locals pub. . Nestled in the backstreets of Walworth you will find The Queen Elizabeth pub. It’s a about a fifteen minute walk from Elephant & Castle Tube, there are a few other pubs along the way incase you need to have a livener and a pit stop prior to getting here. . This is a two bar corner pub which has the traditional saloon and public bar set up, this was the case with a lot of pubs built during the two world wars and after World War II. Prior to entering I didn’t know the make up of the pub and walked in to the saloon bar. I was served by Jackie who was was very welcoming and personable, we got chatting about pubs and she gave me some recommendations to visit in and around Walworth. I ordered a pint of Moretti which was under five quid, this is the cheapest I’ve paid for it in any London boozer. The atmosphere here was great and had a very friendly vibe, there was a ska and reggae soundtrack playing in the background and there were two fellas at the bar reciting the tunes word for word. I spoke with a couple of the locals who were very nice lads. One fella was talking me through his acca as we were watching Soccer Saturday on the TV. I had a great conversation with this top fella from Leeds who lived close by, we spoke about the six nations and Englands chances of winning it, he was a very knowledgeable chap and interesting to talk to. . This is a traditionally decorated pub and luckily the powers that be have not decided to paint everything grey and shove a few chesterfields in. There is a huge bass mirror in the saloon bar, some floral wall paper and the original bar from when the pub was built. . This was my fourth pub on my crawl around Walworth and I have to say my favourite. This pub has great service, good company and relaxing surroundings, all you want from a visit to a boozer. I love this pub, if I could give it a royal seal of approval I would. God Save The Queen. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 05/03/22 If you want to see all my pub reviews in one place, head to @londonpubmap on Instagram. 🍻

There's a real feeling of familiarity in the Queen Elizabeth in Walworth. It's a proper three room local with a small outside garden. Regulars make good use of the place and they are lucky to have it. There's a room to the side of the bar set up for darts, drinking space around the bar and a separate room with its own front door for quiter chat. You can imagine the difference being the public and saloon bar rooms in years gone by. The bar furniture's attractive, the main bar carries an illuminated back bar proclaiming the pub to be a Watneys house, while the saloon bar is well framed with bannisters and a head height glass store. Happy hour runs in the pub from 11-6, and on my visit the drinks were set at the right level for the area - £3.80 for a pint of ale. In more central areas, I'd payat least £2 more. There's a fruity, big screen TV, a quiz night, fireplace and a few stock quotes about drinking on the walls. A huge Bass mirror takes up a whole wall by the bar.

A simple backstreet pub in Walworth. The Queen Elizabeth on the corner of Merrow and Lytham offers a good range of keg beers and ciders, a sad face for the real ale drinkers. Lovely service and a convivial atmosphere. This is just a lovely, simple boozer with great people.

Was going to pop in the pub for a drink and noticed a lovely house across the road with Christmas decs. Took some pictures and the woman working behind the bar comes out and we believe we heard her accusing us off stealing. Completely understand the area we are in but to come out and blatantly accuse someone off something is slander! Glad she showed her true colours as my money was not worth that pub but was defo worth the donation box in the lovely Christmas decorated garden across the road!! Not one soul in there apart from staff so really shouldn’t be scaring away...
