The Umi — Restaurant in London

Had late dinner there, we were only 2 in the restaurant, to be honest food deserves 5 ⭐️, But service wasnt good at all. It might be us, but each restaurant in London offers tab water or when you sat down or at least staff ask for it. But not this place. Food arrives much faster than 2(only in the menu)cocktails.Again, good service means drinks first-food after. It was opposite… Cocktails we have ordered we returned back as they were literally BLAND… Felt like a sugary water… sorry, for the price PLUS Service Charge you cant serve it saying its your way to do cocktails, anyways… cocktails were swapped for the glasses of wine with no extra charge! Soy pot in our table was empty, barely filled my ramekin with soy… so I took from other table, was the same, As I said, restaurant was empty…Drinks menu were really dirty, sticky and full of stains… its not a big deal to wipe it off … but , unfortunately, not every staff treat their work place as own one! Jake and another waitress just stayed at the bar in their phones…so we always needed to catch attention … and we have never been asked How was our food and is everything ok? Ignore… So I refused to pay Service Charge, but shame, cuz food is delicious!!! I would put 2⭐️, but As I am part of hospitality business- Im not gonna do it. I wish management to get a right people to run this gem...

Went here really excited and hopeful with the first sushi place to open in Balham since I moved here! But was really disappointed, I'm a huge sushi eater, but this did not live up to my expectations. The portions were absolutely tiny for the price they are at- which I wouldn't mind if they were super tasty and special-but they were far from it. I spent around £100 and wish I hadn't. Such a shame, the service was really tired and lazy, the people there looked like they'd rather be anywhere else and were just miserable and unfriendly. One of the ladies with long hair gave me such a dirty look for asking to look at the dessert menu ???? Won't be going...

Hey, before you say anything, I worked with Japanese food for 4 years . Today we ordered some take away food was made quick enough as probably evening and Sunday. They didn't had delivery free so we needed to do pick up . Order wasn't big . Food tasty but way over priced . My chicken katsu was so not worth £11 . As portions in city centre is way cheaper . Husbands BBQ beef soba noodles was probably kids portion 😂 . Sushi was good and gyoza dumpling was boiled first then put in a pan for Brown sides lol ( ewww ). Well at least we know where do not order again. Still hungry so gonna hunt more food lol . Thanks...
