Fantastic location and was very much looking forward to a night out, coming out of lockdown. Unfortunately the staff that were there were quite unorganised and I felt bad for them when it took them nearly 10 mins to take my order for 5 drinks and 5 meals (4 of which were the same). I gave them the benefit of the doubt as it'd be a pretty tough gig in the centre of London with these COVID measures.
They also seemed to struggle with the concept that we had booked a table and left us to our own device to find a table. We did, we found one with the right amount of seats with a reserved sign for 7pm.. When we had booked it for.
Unfortunately another group of patrons decided to take it upon themselves to tell us we couldn't sit there because their friends were coming soon and were quite aggressive about it. We found the staff member who in the first instance had struggled to get us seated and then she told us off for sitting down, even though she had told us to find ourselves a seat, only 5 minutes earlier!!
After this point it became very clear she was friends with the rude patrons and was obviously favouring them, she moved us to another table (DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE RUDE PEOPLE) which made me think why were these people upset? Their friends who didn't turn up for another 40 mins could have just sat there.
These rude people then congregated in a group of about 10 or so around a single table and shrugged off the manager's request for them to follow social distancing rules.
Was a stressful experience from trying to order drinks and food, to then being treated like idiots by a lady who facilitated friends breaking...
Read moreI really wanted to try this place. It’s in a really cool location and it’s interesting being under the bridge. You can see the Thames and it’s really surprising how fast it runs and being so close to it is cool. You can see the Tower and modern London. The restaurant is very atmospheric with the brick barrel vaulted ceiling and big wall of windows over the river. It’s very tight. Lots of tables for such a small space and people bump them when walking so be careful. The food was a mix. I was excited to try the fish and chips but was disappointed. The fish was mushy and the breading/coating was tasteless but edible with the tartar sauce. Not to mention so greasy it dripped/splattered everywhere. Got all over my jacket. Literally the first day of a 3 week trip and the only pullover I brought. 🤦♀️ Lesson learned. Husband wanted a burger but they were out of beef. ?? The kitchen opened at 14:30 and we went back at 15… Weird. He ordered a chicken club. They used chicken pieces not sliced meat so it was really messy but he said it was really good. The draft cider was out but the bottled was good. The loo was clean and the service was mildly friendly and the area it’s in is really cool. We’re glad we went but honestly would prob’ly...
Read moreI've been to Pub several times and always found the staffs very friendly, but today I had a terrible experience. I was with my family who came abroad to visit London and we really wanted to use the toilet. I was with my mother, who is over 50, and my sister, who is 15. Unfortunately, when we got to the toilet, a staff member came running and said we couldn't use it. So, my husband bought a drink, and the same staff member was rude to him. When I was inside the toilet, my sister was waiting to use it as well, the staff member came back again, telling her to leave, making a hand gesture like "get out of here." I found all of this so disrespectful. We are women and we wouldn't do anything in the toilet. The staff who claims to be the manager of the place, denied access to the toilet to a child and a woman over 50 even though my husband had bought a drink. This is unacceptable. I will never go back there again. The staff definitely needs an appropriate training on how to deal with people, treat everyone with equality, be more polite and understanding, as it is not always that you know if the person has any disability, remember it is not all the time you will recognise a disable person, so more respect...
