This review is LONG overdue (and long...), but, I stayed here with my mom for one month (end of March 2024 to end of April 2024) and I cannot sing this hotel's praises enough.

From the moment we walked in the door, after a 10 hour long journey, until the second we left, the staff could not have been more accommodating, kind, genuine, thoughtful, and caring.

Literally EVERYONE we interacted with was beyond phenomenal. There were so many people who made our experience great but a thank you to those whose names I was able to catch: Heena, (with her trainee Viktoria*) the friendliest and most enthusiastic welcoming committee I've ever experienced at any hotel. After checking in with her at the start of our trip my cheeks were aching from smiling and laughing so much. She made the start of my mom and my journey memorable and seamless.

Collins, the absolute kindest and most positive person. He brought us to our room at the start of our stay and quickly became a family staple. Always friendly and happy to greet us in the hallways or delivering packages without complaint (and believe me he had lots of reasons to complain). Stellar service, incredible attitude, amazing human through and through.

Tilan, the Fixer with the calmest disposition. Extremely knowledgable and kind, he has the warmest smile and melted any worry my mom and I had about anything in an instant.

Rishi, thank you for making our time so much fun. Whenever we saw him behind the concierge counter, he always had the answer we needed and was so thoughtful with his little touches. Made my birthday absolutely memorable, THANK YOU RISHI!

Dexter, another all-star concierge companion who can literally bring you anything you imagine on demand. He's such a great sport and was completely patient when it came to any need. He has a great sense of humor and a wonderful energy. Whenever we came through and saw him he absolutely made our day.

Betty, the best energy you could experience in the morning at breakfast. Fantastic conversationalist, hilarious, kind and helpful. Best starts to my day were when I saw Betty's smiling and welcoming glow at breakfast.

Avik at Vertical, if you have any questions about the menu ask Avik! Candid, honest, and kind he always helped us find the BEST things on the menu and even recommended fantastic restaurants in the area.

Finally, Jakir. I cannot express enough how much Jakir did to help my mom and me during our trip. He called every day to check in about our stay and when my mom fell ill, he did absolutely everything to make her comfortable. Jakir is one of the most spectacular human beings my mom and I have had the pleasure of meeting and in our hearts he is unquestionably family. I do not know where we would have been without his attentiveness and generosity and he is the definition of "above and beyond" when it comes to hospitality. Most sincere thanks to you, Jakir.

The staff at Natural Kitchen (separate review to follow): Guiliana, Nagarjun, and Rosy - were the full dream team. My mom and I dined here more times than I would like to admit and it was wholly attributed to the welcoming atmosphere that this group brought every time we came through.

I could go on but I will stop here. There were so many more and I, sadly, was not able to get everyone's names - so sincere apologies to anyone I missed!!

From housekeeping, to reservation amendments, room service and more this place is incredibly special and the staff here are one of a kind. I truly hope that everyone and anyone who is able to stay at the DoubleTree Tower of London does - the location is bar none by the way. I've been coming to London having studied and lived here between 2011 and 2020 and I can say without a doubt that this is the place I will be returning to, and recommending to friends and family, in the future and beyond.

THANK YOU ALL! We are missing our stay DAILY and CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK!

We stayed for 4 nights this summer and enjoyed the experience. We would return for sure.

Beautiful lobby, well staffed front desk, helpful staff all around. Whether porters, breakfast buffet staff, housekeeping, or guest services, all were friendly and professional.

Breakfast buffet was very good. No problems with anything, and a fantastic variety between pancakes, waffles, muffins, porridge, granola, compote (sour cherry was awesome), pastries, toast, tea, espresso (machines), juices, several types of eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, fruit, yogurt, smoked salmon, and more. Lots of options, all good. Very efficiently run breakfast operation especially with how busy it was at times.

The hotel vibe shifted significantly when you leave the beautiful, modern lobby and head upstairs. The hallways are in sore need of an update and actually smell a bit musty. Thankfully the room did not. Despite the room also needing an update it smelled fine and everything was clean. Our room did have a few small moths over the course of our stay which was unusual but not bothersome to us. The bed was comfy and the room and hallway were quiet - our window faced the courtyard area. The room was a bit tight but workable. Not a great selection of TV channels. The bathroom was updated and well laid out to maximize space and storage. The shower had good pressure but a weirdly fluctuating temperature - it would oscillate between just on the verge of too hot to just on the verge of too cold so the net temperature was ok I guess, but I i didn't like it . I didn't make any inquiries because I don't think it's fixable.

We didn't go to the rooftop bar. We weren't that interested as we had other plans and it also looked quite expensive. So we opted out, even with the voucher we were given.

We went to the attached restaurant (Natural Kitchen) which I reviewed separately. It's not part of the hotel itself.

We had to ask for a flat sheet on the bed which we found out afterwards may be a Canadian thing. I'm just glad we found that out and had it fixed before we were going to bed at night. We had to ask for a second washcloth/facecloth the first day but there were always two after that.

When we checked in nobody explained the elevator to us but another guest helped us figure it out. You had to swipe your room key in the elevator and then press your floor. But this did not work consistently for us or other guests so we sometimes went for rides to other floors. A minor annoyance at times.

The location was perfect. Tower Hill was a nice area, not too touristy or busy but tons of amenities within a 5ish minute walk, including the Tower Hill tube station and Fenchurch Street train station. Lots of restaurants and shops around, and a quick walk to Tower Bridge and beyond. The neighborhood felt safe to us.

The few issues we had were minor and the experience was...

Hear ye, hear ye! The review is now in session for Ye Olde Hilton DoubleTree. This charming, posh little place is situated just two blocks away, in what I would describe as a notorious nook, in the shadows of the infamous Tower of London. It’s also one block away from the Tower Hill memorial execution site. I WISH I had taken the time to take a snapshot of that because I’m a huge fan of Tudor History.|A few accolades and honorable mentions must go out to the Hilton management staff. A special shoutout goes to Sukeina. She checked my mom and me in at the front desk, and we were allowed to access our room a bit earlier than expected. I was especially grateful because we had just disembarked from a cruise that morning. Sukeina was an absolute gem—so patient and helpful. She even allowed me to record her giving directions on how to get around various parts of London and use the Tube. More shout outs and honorable mentions go out to the bellhop Yuri and our room attendant, Meriam. Yuri helped us out with a luggage cart straight away when we arrived and Meriam delivered some chocolates. My last shout out goes out to the tall security guard/employee in the lobby. I didn't catch his name, but he was really patient. He gave my mom and my 2 friends some directions and restaurant recommendations.|Now, let’s talk about the restaurant and breakfast buffet. The restaurant, named Vertical, served some lovely dishes. I ordered the artisan bread board, classic Caesar salad, and cheesy tortellini. The meal was quite enjoyable—especially the tortellini, which was rich and satisfying. On the downside, I wasn’t a fan of the restaurant's location, as it’s situated in the lobby of the hotel. If you enjoy people-watching, though, you might actually find this appealing.|The breakfast buffet, which is separate from the main restaurant and located at the front of the hotel, was VERY good. They offered a variety of bagels, eggs, juices, and cereals. I especially appreciated the different styles of eggs available. I’d return for the hospitality and the fried eggs alone! If you’re in the mood for a “proper knees-up” or “fancy a cheeky pint,” then Savage Garden is definitely the place for you. It has more of a modern club vibe than a cozy pub feel, so just be aware of that. Although I’m not a drinker, the views of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London at sunset were absolutely superb—well worth a photo, even without a pint in hand.|It was a short stay for me, as I had a flight the next morning, but there’s definitely more to explore. Feel free to stop at the I plan to return for more of what this lovely hotel and its surroundings have to offer. So, Cheerio for now, and may your stay here be as splendid as a cuppa on...

This is one of the worst stays we have ever had in the Hilton brand. Here are the things that we ran into during our stay: 1) Our 1st room, 264, was spacious & dated, but it had the worst carpet and stains that I have ever seen in a hotel (picture included). Not sure if there was mold or it was just a black stain. We were in this room for the first two nights. There was also a huge active leak in the lobby hallway just ahead of the elevators which made access to the elevators a challenge. 2) Our move to room 242 was not handled well. Apparently they didn't process the move on the computers and then we had someone else try to enter our room. This then caused all keys to be wiped including ours (which is a good idea when there is a security issue like this one). When we went to the front desk to get replacement keys - no one asked me for my ID to prove I was indeed the accurate occupant. 3) Our room number was not properly recorded on the Executive Lounge list of guests. Thankfully the hostess was kind enough to record it and allow us to enjoy a beverage on our last evening with the hotel. 4) The Executive Lounge is managed a bit too stringently for those who are actually authorized to enjoy it. They offer bottles of water & coke but won't allow members to take these items to go up to their room to be enjoyed. Given the state of things at this hotel, it is one benefit that might be provided to compensate for all the other failings or shortcomings that members are likely to experience here. The things we found beneficial of this hotel were: 1) Location to Tower Hill Underground station 2) Location to Tower of London & other tourist attractions 3) The french fries served at the Vertical Cafe in the bar were very tasty We would NOT choose to stay here again and likely will question any DoubleTree choice in the future. Update July 10th - P Reyes reached out and provided us Hilton Honors points as part of an apology. She offered an upgraded room upon a future visit. Both very appreciated while also being too late to enjoy for our trip.

this hotel is excellent ONLY if you are in an executive room!! thankfully we got upgraded to executive upon arrival, but I seriously cannot imagine staying here without access to the lounge or the executive floors - you can see in the image below how different the executive top floors look through the courtyard windows at night. The executive lounge was my favorite thing - free drinks and light snacks for 2 hours every day as well as free breakfast. Somebody next to us got their purse stolen in the executive lounge which you have to have a room key to get into, however, there are cameras in the room and it sounded like the staff was treating the guest extremely well given the circumstance. Free still and sparkling water bottles in the executive lounge too which we stocked up on frequently. Robes & slippers in the room too! We did not try the hotel bar or the rooftop lounge, but there are some amazing restaurants in walking distance as well as the nearby Tower Bridge. It is a quick 5 minute walk to bus routes, the tube station nearby was not open when we were there in june, but if it was it is literally right down the street and would’ve been so incredibly convenient. The location is somewhat far to main attractions like soho district or buckingham palace. This hotel is closer to the business district, but we VERY much enjoyed being on this side of London because it was significantly quieter, less touristy, and still easy to take the tube or buses without sitting in a bunch of main London traffic. We transferred to a 5-star Hilton for a few nights for a business conference that was near Hyde park and absolutely hated it. Even though that was supposed to be a nicer hotel it looked very pretty, but it was so loud, so busy, smaller room, etc. this hotel is much quieter and more affordable and I would 100% stay here again on our next visit to London!
