I entered Vapiano at 11:40am after asking a customer if they're open 😅. It looked pretty empty with little activity, and so I stood by the door waiting to be seated, and then after a while I wondered through where the restaurant looking for a staff member. The back of the restaurant opens up into a spacious, bright and large area - it looks very nice! Eventually I was seated.
Vapiano has QR codes on the table and asks you to order from your phone. I had some issues with this because the 'Add to basket' button was not clickable on my phone (very likely a software compatibility issue by not supporting Firefox on Android). I explained this to the waitress and she made me think it was a problem with my phone and my internet connection. I empathised, demonstrated and explained the probable cause and asked to order in-person. The waitress directed me order on the other side of the restaurant at the till. I asked if she can take my order while I'm seated and she said "No", so I got up and walked over to the other side to order. The waitress at the till was smiley and nice.
I ordered the Carbonara lunchtime deal, and it arrived in 5-10 minutes. The waiter was jovial and upbeat and arrived with 2 servings of carbonara and my drink. I was pleasantly surprised and shared my confusion, and the waiter was also a little confused but said it must be the lunctime deal. Was this a token of apology for my bad app experience? Good karma? The waiter said it must be my lucky day, and so I happily grated paramesan cheese on both plates and got stuck in!
1 minute later, the waiter came back and said there was an error in the system and I should have only received one plateful. He joked that "Christmas is being taken away" and took my plate away! I asked where the food would go and why he can't leave it with me? I was looking forward to it! He didn't know where the food would go, and went ahead and took it away.
Another waiter, who looked like the manager, came over and asked me how things were. I paused and said "It's ok...". Before I could explain he acknokwledged and said "Ok" and walked off!
I can't stress how hilariously bad the customer service is. Textbook errors made at every opportunity!
On the food itself: Carbonara - good firmness to the pasta but overly saucy and felt very heavy Lemonade - sweet and zesty for the first 5 minutes, but quickly dilutes itself due to excess ice
Would I go back? No. If I did I would Order via the app, if possible, and avoid the staff Choose something other than the carbonara Ask for lemonade without ice If I get served additional food by accident, refuse it before I...
Read moreAbsolutely vile. So we get there and we see there are a lot people there first red flag. NEVER EAT AT RESTAURANTS THAT ARE BUSY. If they r busy they most likely rush your food and some items on the menu won’t be avalible. Anyway the lady says they are so busy during small talk, mind you me n family got there at like 8pm cool.We sit down the table is dirty. How can you go and sit customers on a dirty table? There was bits of food and drink spills from previous customers on a table they expected us to eat on. Out of their mind clearly. Second red flag DIRTY TABLE =DIRTY RESTAURANT =DIRTY KITCHEN=DIRTY FOOD. We order starters and imagine the garlic bread was the highlight of the experience. Then I get lagsane idk how to spell the thing you get what I’m talking about. It was disgusting, revolting I wouldn’t feed that to my dog. It was definitely pre-made and chucked in the oven if I wanted oven food I wouldn’t spend £13.75 on a watery slimey slab of lasagna. The cheese on top seperated in my mouth due to how watery it was. It literally was 50% water and it spewed out when I put my fork in. Then I peel back the layer of cheese to the pasta and I scrap my fork against it to see the pasta is moving like toothpaste vile I tell you vile. The meat looked more processed than vegan bacon horrid. They should be in “Hell’s Kitchen” so Gordon Ramsey can scream the true horrors that happen in the kitchen that we don’t know as customers. In addition I tasted my other families pasta they tasted undercooked and nasty. More specifically the spinach mix up of pasta. Yuck. Even though it was better than what I got it was horrid too the pasta was undercooked and sauce it was in was dry and tasteless. The chicken Alfredo my sister ordered was just as bad it was dry and tasteless and the chicken looked whiter than the actual pasta.Furthermore there was no pizza bc they were so busy, how can a Italian restaurant run out of pizza? My mum acted like the true Karen she is and complained because no one could eat that lasagna or some of the other pasta ordered. In all fairness the guy was nice and tried offering us free food but who would want free swine food? It is most likely they are liked for their pizzas because I don’t see a reason as to why anyone would go for pasta . Anyway don’t ever go if you do just buy the garlic dough balls although their oily they are pretty decent, only thing I liked and ate tbh. £116 down the drain. -10009999/10 do...
Read more####FOR the GORGEOUS YETUNDE in LONDON BRIDGE ####
I was served by YETUNDE in LONDON BRIDGE branch today Friday 30th August 2024 a VERY respectful young lady made myself and my Mum feel welcome her hospitality was one that I have NEVER experienced in any restaurant especially NOT in London where 9/10 people are rude.
Yetunde’s work ethic too in the business in Vapiano to be specific definitely a type of employee any successful business would require these qualities are very essential for a worker to have in order for any business to go far .
Not only that she also helped me to charge my phone in the store again this is another benefit for the business since it allowed me to stay in the restaurant myself and my mum to eat and pay many restaurants I have been to their employees would never allow a customer to charge their phone ( unless they the customer bought their own charge ) this is bad very bad because it will make customer/s never to return back again small things like this can affect the business whereas in Yetunde’s case when my phone died COMPLETELY she cares SO much about Viapiano she immediately took my phone with a smile on her face went away to charge it phone charge = I paid my food bill again money in the business = died phone = customer will turn away go home = no money in the business ( she was serving at the tile as you can imagine how business V can get on a Friday yet she was multitasking looking after my phone so no one takes it at the same time doing her job )
London Bridge branch you have won having this individual.
Myself and my mum will come back DEFINITELY in fact I will also bring my friends
*YETUNDE the best employee I have NEVER seen * in LONDON BRIDGE
