Excellent spot for a drink on a nice patio overlooking the river. Just walk straight to the bar, order and pick your seat. However I had a pretty disappointing experience due to service. First, the server basically ignored me as I stood next to the entrance rather than explaining me how it worked, then I asked to replace the mashed potatoes on my sausage place with veggies and got... fried potatoes. Finally, I felt quite bad about how the table next to me was treated. After getting their plate they evidently didn’t get what they expected (discussing in a foreign language) but the server decided to ignore and walked right back. They later pointed it took more than 20 minutes to get their plate and she basically replied “yeah I know”. So for dining, I would stick to a good old pub but it works for a drink.

I hadn't intended to go for lunch today. I was taking a walk along the south of the river, and the weather began to turn. I came across The Waterfront, and decided to go in for a drink. It wasn't long after I sat down that I started to smell the lovely food from the kitchen... and saw the plates of food being delivered to other tables. I quickly changed my mind and thought it would be a great place to have a Sunday (late) Lunch. I went for the trio, beef, pork belly and chicken! Wow! I was not disappointed. The beef was perfectly cooked, the pork belly melting in the mouth and chicken tender. I also can't fault the vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I'm so full up that I really should continue my walk... but I think I'll take the bus.

It was a bit noisy inside due to Euro 2020 match. But there wasn't any problems to find place outside for more peace. The food and service was great with right attention given to us at the right time. We didn't go for the mains which were more of traditional pub food. However Small Plates choise seemed more interesting. Would definitely recommend Shropshire chicken thighs in BBQ souce with chips. 28-day aged Angus rare beef, shredded summer slaw was also nice, but l chicken was a winner. River views with a sunset over it contributed to a great evening and a fireworks over the bridge was a cherry on the top

From the moment we arrived, this place captured our senses — not just with the incredible food and drinks, but with its unbeatable waterfront setting that felt like a mini vacation. Nestled right on the edge of the water, the views were absolutely stunning. Watching the sunset while sipping cocktails and hearing the gentle ripple of the waves was the kind of atmosphere you dream about. It set the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening.

Now onto the food — every single dish we ordered was flawless. We started with the seafood platter, and wow — everything was fresh, perfectly chilled, and generously portioned. The oysters were briny and sweet, the prawns were plump and juicy, and the smoked salmon was delicate and flavorful. Paired with a crisp glass of white wine recommended by our server, it was the ideal beginning.

For the mains, I had the grilled sea bass served on a bed of wild rice with a citrus-herb sauce that was absolutely divine. The fish was cooked to perfection — flaky, moist, and full of flavor without being overly seasoned. My partner went for the sirloin steak. Rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying, it was clear the kitchen puts a lot of care and time into their dishes.

The cocktails were just as impressive. I tried their signature waterfront mojito, which was refreshing and balanced — not too sweet, with just the right kick of lime and mint. Their espresso martini also deserves a shout-out — smooth, strong, and with a beautiful crema on top. The bar team really knows their craft.

Dessert was the cherry on top — we shared a sticky toffee pudding that was airy, rich, and indulgent without being overly heavy. Paired with a late harvest Riesling, it made for the perfect ending to a perfect meal.

The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. They seemed genuinely happy to be there, which added to the welcoming vibe. Our server took the time to explain the menu, made spot-on drink pairings, and checked in at just the right moments.

Overall, this place is an absolute gem. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want to treat yourself to an amazing meal with a killer view, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll definitely be coming back — this spot has officially become one of our favorite go-to destinations.

Highly,...

The Waterfront is our local friendly pub so it was a no brainer on choosing to visit here.

On arrival we were given an extensive wine list menu but when we asked about what range of beers were available there was no written list and the server did not seem to have a clue. I thought the Waterfront is fundamentally meant to be a pub not a wine bar?

I did try the App it didn't work and I actually wanted to down time from my mobile anyway.

After 30mins of polite waiting we had to finally stand up and wave for service to get our meal order taken.

When the food arrived we again had to stand up and wave for attention as the server had not brought over any cutlery after he took our order.

After we finished the meal we had to sit with the dirty plates as these were not collected from the table in a timely manner as would be expected.

Thankfully we were not forced to vacate after our allotted time slot which was just as well as with all the waiting we had not had an opportunity to order a pudding. The pudding plates were not collected until we asked for the bill.

It was buzy during out visit but other tables were definitely getting better service than we were. Our table #42 is hidden by a barrier from staff eye view (so avoid) but in my opinion also the server did not make sufficient effort to come over to ask about our comforts, he is possibly new and needs more training. We didn't make any fuss at all during the time as we were not convinced it would of made a difference, also we were there to wind down and did not want embarrassing attention from other diners.

I had the meat burger it was not particularly well flavoured but OK. My partner had the cod. I would say that the food is pretty overpriced for what it is so you are really paying for the ambiance. Therefore when you are not getting decent table service which is necessarily enforced due to Covid-19 restrictions it's not a great time out.

Our visit was meant to be a quiet celebration of our anniversary but it regretfully was not a pleasant experience on this occasion.

The irony is having been almost invisible for almost 2+ hours on our way to the exit almost every staff member was thanking us for our visit and telling us...

My girlfriend, her family and I went to the Waterfront for a Sunday Roast. We booked the table in advance and were kindly accommodated for an extra patron, from that point on, it was downhill fast. Every time we ordered drinks they took roughly 20mins. In fact, it seemed faster to go stand in line at the bar and order drinks to the table. When the drinks would eventually arrive, we discovered lipstick all over one of the Aperol glass, we sent it back and of course we were down another 20 min.

Luckily when we were running out of saturation we were provided entertainment when one of the waiters and the chef started screaming at each other. They were screaming across the serving tray which was full of roast dinners. Luckily by this point we had, had our roast and may have dodged the saliva and breath that was coating the plates waiting to be served. The situation escalated further when the waiter entered the kitchen and the chef, surprisingly small required two men to hold him back. The chef then asked the waiter to go outside for a punch up, which of course the waiter obliged to. Things seemed to calm down once the manager was present. That said, I witnessed the manager take no control of the situation, drop some fries on the table, shoved them back into a pot and then serve them to some poor sod.

As a shareholder of Youngs Pubs, it greatly concerns me to witness the lack of urgency, professionalism and hygiene. The only thing this pub has going for it is the location. If you go to this pub, be prepared to put on your patience hat and I would think twice before ordering food. That said, the food was good and arrived promptly. who knows what additional flavouring we had on it though. What a...
