It seems a bit mean to criticise a place for its generous portions but the size of some of these dishes really is obscene. I ordered the dynamite chicken - essentially fried chicken with noodles or rice and salad topped with spicy mayo. It was honestly enough for 3 people and would’ve made a good sharing dish but that’s not clear when you order so we ended up having far too much food. The chicken was ok but a little bit dry. if you had 3 pieces as a side dish it would work but there’s just so much of it, I can’t think why anyone would want to eat so much of the same food. The noodles on the other hand were so dry they were practically inedible. On the plus side, it’s good they give you a pot of the dynamite sauce as well as on top of the dish, as there definitely wouldn’t have been enough otherwise. The honey bbq chicken was a similar story, very dry noodles but in fairness the chicken was much nicer - very tender and moist largely due to the delicious marinade. I think it’s a theme of not just this place but many of the Bang Bang outlets that a bit less quantity and a bit more quality would...
Read moreMy experience with Uncle Chilli at Bang Bang was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I've ever had.
To start, the noodles were burnt and had an overwhelming oily taste that completely masked any potential flavor. The portion of duck was disappointingly small—there was hardly any meat, just a few bones and dry skin. The cucumber served alongside was unappetizing, looking past its prime and not fresh at all.
The rice was another letdown; it was bland and lacked seasoning, missing even the most basic ingredient: salt. The sweet chili chicken was perhaps the only dish that was somewhat acceptable, but even that was excessively dry.
When our food was ready, the staff was busy chit-chatting nearby rather than attending to us, and I had to remind them to hand over my order.
Overall, I was thoroughly disappointed and certainly won't be returning to this restaurant...
Read moreFood was good although expensive compared with other outlets in Bang Bang. Service was very poor. I have eaten in Bang Bang many times and on this occasion tried Uncle Chilli as we had not eaten here before. We both ordered from the same restaurant as we believed the food would be ready at a similar time. Food arrived 23 mins apart! They were not specialist dishes. When complained I was told I should try and work there, it not that easy! Rude! I appreciate that, but after asking multiple times for a rough estimate of how long it will take was basically ignored. No please or thank you either when ordered. Learn some manners as echoed byoother reviews. I would advice to eat elsewhere within Bang Bang as we have never had this experience before, unless you like eating half an hour apart. There were other customers with the...
