Poor customer service and avoid going there if you have a food allergy.

It’s deeply concerning how they handle their food allergen standards. Our waitress, who was not in a good mood, asked about allergies and I mentioned my nut allergy. I said I only wanted a coffee, but she repeatedly strongly advised against it saying there was a high risk of cross-contamination throughout the kitchen from the nuts used in their pastries.

It’s truly worrying that their standards are so poor that it's too risky to even order a simple cup of coffee or tea? As someone well aware of the risks, I’ve not experienced this before. Along with this, she had poor customer service, and was unhelpful and unwelcoming. Her solution was essentially to tell me not to come here which feels discriminatory to people with allergies.

Racially profiled as a brown family and was asked to go cash money in the rain outside- to pay for the bill. Not sure how the same debit card I could have paid for- and the cash from the same account are different for them. It’s a shame as the food was ok for a cafe, and service too. I don’t carry cash around which is pretty normal now I think - she said the card machine does not work/ but then we went in again another time, and she didn’t say that - she just asked us to go get cash- in the RAIN outside and come back and pay! I am positive she didn’t ask anyone else to get outside and do the same and accepted their cards the only difference between me and my family and others was my skin colour- so sadly for them- we won’t be coming back. A first class cafe. I first visited for an Irish breakfast in October 2015 after a local appointment. It was so good I decided to return today (October 2017), my first visit back to Ruislip since. The tea was served with bag in and milk on the side allowing time for it to brew properly. The breakfast was well cooked, hot, tasty and full of flavour. I too agree with the sausage test - they clearly use first class ingredients here. A cafe that knows what it is doing and takes pride in offering consistent good food and service.
