Was so looking forward to eating here after reading all the reviews but was so disappointed early on, literally soon as we walked through the door. Once given the menus, half of the items were not available. When the food arrived it was mediocre. There was a watery salad on the plate which only ruined the rest of the food. The food order was wrong and the service was non existent. The wine was not served cold. The place was empty, so they were not rushed off their feet. Staff were too busy taking photos of the food behind the counter and entertaining themselves than taking care of their restaurant customers. We were overcome by the music being turned up so loud we could not hear each other talk. All we kept getting was the death stare like they wanted us to hurry up and go. It is not a place we would visit again and one has to wonder whether their five star reviews are in fact true.

Gyros are delicious and pretty good value if you do take-away. Menu does not explain every dish so unless you are very familiar with Greek food you have to get staff to explain it all or google it. Therefore it's kinda hard to know what to order. Would not recommend dine-in. Staff just hang around and mess about all the time, music a bit too loud and the place feels a bit cold and uninviting. Best to go as a group of 3 or 4+ people you can order the sharing plates which look good. Food is generally good but very simple, most of it is just grilled meat or fish and no dishes you would normally associate with Greek food such as keftedes, kleftiko and pasticio - so if you are coming here because you crave some moussaka you will be sorely disappointed. Food is a bit on the pricey side for some dishes.

Deliveroo Blues: Vlamis, Where Is My Chicken - Did It Fly Away? 🐓 🍗 A tragic tale of a missing meal and a man pushed to the edges

Part 1: To the tune of sadness and soggy fries

Oh Deliveroo guy, you flew too slow, By the time you came, the fries were cold. I dreamed of wrap, juicy and bold, But you gave me sadness… and something old

Tomatoes from Tuesday, a flavourless crime, And that chicken? Missing - not even a sign. Gyros? More like a wrap full of air, I checked every bite… but it wasn’t there.

Part 2: My husband’s despair

My husband sighed, he looked so grim, “This wrap,” he muttered, “is mocking him.” He poked the fries with deep regret, Whispered, “Is this the worst one yet?”

He ranted, paced, then sat back down, Mumbling curses with a royal frown. “Next time,” he cried, “I’ll just eat air!” I feared Deliveroo had wrecked his hair.

Part 3: Toast is my backup plan

So here I sit, hungry and betrayed, With wilted veg and promises decayed. Next time I’ll just make toast instead, At least I won’t be misled.

Part 4: Crying for my chicken 🐓 🍗

Where did you go, my chick delight? Did you fly off into the night? Oh Vlamis, Vlamis, was this your best? Or did my meal fail your quality test?

My chicken’s missing - flew away? Off to a party, or ran astray? Oh Vlamis, Vlamis, is this gourmet? Or just a crime from yesterday?

Left us with sorrow and dismay My man’s gone crazy ain’t okay You owe us peace… and a fresh entrée Please… give me back my chicken

COMING SOON | A TRUE STORY "Deliveroo Blues: The Chicken That Never Came"

Starring: – Happy Me (I don’t even like meat) – An Angry Man (who just wanted his wrap) – A Hungry Friend (silently suffering) – The Deliveroo Guy (late and clueless) – Vlamis (the name, the disappointment)

Filmed on location: My Garden, UK - 9 May 2025 Cold fries. No chicken. Tension rising. This summer… not everyone gets their wrap.

A GInkspire Production Powered by hunger, sarcasm, and one tragic takeaway.

Do you feel hungry?

Are you extremely in a hurry and your time is very limited?

I have a choice for you. Highly recommended.

“Vlami Grill & Restaurant” is thinking about you. There you can sit or order takeaway: amazing food, coffee or drinks.  A professional friendly staff is waiting for you and serving what you need.

It is in Southbury Road in a  perfect position for everyone who uses buses, trains, walks or drives. In the centre of Enfield Town next to Enfield Train Station and the bus stop is just 30 m. Don’t worry about parking. The Tesco store is very close; You can park there free for 2 hours.

Going inside you can see a bright glass deck  full of fresh salads,  sauce, xaxiqi, spicy  chees  and a lot of homemade cooked food. Two big gyros ( chicken and pork freshly made )spinning slowly, kokorec in suvla , mix meet  in the grill and sausages (lukaniko- made by the chef with fresh meat vegetables )hanging for drying ,kalamaki, sqepasti, and grilled sea bass.

Are you vegetarian?? At ”Vlamis” you will find your preferred choice. Vegan food cooked or baked in the grille.

Are you thinking about your family? Don't worry! Soup, musaka, jemista and beans. All the Greek traditional kitchen Vlamis has included in. Just in 5 minutes, your food is ready in great quality and good price.

The spacious and stalely decorated environment made it very suitable for family dinners;  birthdays and weddings

Go and try. You will be welcomed and satisfied with the service...

The Greek Corner offers a mixed dining experience that lands firmly in “decent but not outstanding” territory. The star of the menu—the gyros—shows promise. The chicken gyro was tender and well-seasoned, with a pleasant char from the grill, while the lamb version had a rich, savory flavor. However, the pita bread was disappointingly dry and lacked the soft, fluffy texture expected of authentic gyros. The accompanying Greek fries were crispy but underseasoned, though a squeeze of lemon helped. The tzatziki sauce was fresh and tangy, but portions were stingy, leaving me rationing it by the end.

Service was friendly yet inconsistent. The staff greeted guests warmly, but during peak hours, orders took longer than expected, and our server seemed stretched thin. The ambiance is casual and family-friendly, though the decor feels a bit dated, with worn booths and dim lighting that could use a refresh.

Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes, though not a steal. While The Greek Corner delivers a passable gyros fix, it doesn’t quite hit the mark for authenticity or memorability. It’s worth a visit if you’re craving Greek food in a pinch, but don’t expect to be wowed. I’d return for a quick meal but wouldn’t go out of my way to...
