Been to Aksular 3 times before in the evenings with no problems at all. Food was delicious and service was good. Last night however, service was very slow, restaurant was extremely busy and they were not coping very well. Food took over 30 minutes to come which wasn't a problem because he informed us of this at the beginning, so we didn't mind waiting. They kept forgetting, however, to bring out our orders. Told us sea bream ran out at 19:00. Food came out ok, didn't taste nice like it has on previous visits. Some of the chicken shish was undercooked and the lamb kofte was very salty. Rice & bulgar wheat were cold and completely bland.
Ordered a berry blast smoothie which came out with a number of unblended whole berries. Asked for it to be blended again and waitess said ok & took it away. I was waiting for about 20 minutes for it to return. Asked waitress if it was coming & she said they threw it away because they don't reblend. That's not a problem, but nobody came to inform me of this. Asked why she didn't explain that before taking it away or after they threw it away. Told her I wanted a smoothie, which is why I bought it. She started raising her voice accusing us of trying to complain, which made no sense. She then said she would take it off the bill. I said I wanted a different smoothie, not my money back. She said the berry blast was finished so I couldn't have that again, but I can choose another. We asked for the menu so I could choose a different one, which never came. A male waitress who seemed to be above her came by and asked what the problem was. We explained above the smoothie being thrown away without anyone informing us whilst I was waiting pointlessly for it. He said that she had told us they can't blend an already blended smoothie. LIE!!! He was being rude. He ended up saying he was going to make me another smoothie. We were sitting by the table where you can see into the bar area where drinks are made. We saw him take out the berry blast bag from the freezer and make another smoothie. We asked where he got it from when the waitress had just said it was finished. He told us that he had just sent one of his staff to buy a bag from Tesco. It was 20:00. Tesco closes at 5 on Sundays, so that was yet another lie.
At the end of our meal, he only brought out 2 teas for a table of 6 and we waited for a further 15 minutes for the rest of it. We asked him for the rest of the tea and he looked so irritated at our request as though we were not supposed to ask, but he eventually brought it out. He started apologising even though his apology was not genuine at all. He was even being rude in his so called apology. What a terrible experience it all...
Read moreWe went there today Wed 10th August 22 to have fish and the fish was not fresh we tried to give some contractive criticism and it was not taken well they because very defensive and rude. Maybe something to hide!!! We are regular customers and have never complained before. So I didnt understand the hostility. There was a fly flying around that we had to keep fighting off our food that was taken so lightly, maybe the bins had not been emptied and that's why they 🪰 were buzzing around. Who wants a fly buzzing around while they are trying to eat their food???? Any way it's a shame they were so rude as it's really put me off going there. If they were a little nicer I wouldn't have to put this review up here.
In response to the aksular team.... That's not true is it he was very unprofessional and rude I've been there many times and I've never had to complain. My son also had the fish and he had all the herbs and the spices and what ever goes with it and unfortunately you still couldn't hide the fact the fish was not fresh.
I'm not sure if he thought that we were not going to pay our bill and maybe that's why he got so upset as the resturant was empty but we asked for our bill and payed it. In the last month I've been there at least 4 times, and I've never complained never asked for a discount and never not paid my bill.

I have been a regular patron for several years, but my latest visit was so dismal that it has completely changed my view of this establishment. The decline in quality and service was shocking and deeply disheartening.
The most glaring issue was the wait time. It took an excruciating 45 minutes for our main courses to arrive, and when they did, the food was cold. This completely ruined what should have been a satisfying meal. Additionally, there was a mix-up with our order; the hummus, which we requested as a side to our mains, was served as a starter. By the time our main courses arrived, we had already finished the hummus.
Speaking of the food, the quality of the meat has drastically deteriorated compared to last year. The texture and flavor were way off, making for an unpleasant eating experience.
The service was equally disappointing. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, with only two tables occupied, the waiters seemed more interested in playing around with each other than attending to customers. No one checked on us to see if we needed anything or to inquire how our meal was.
It saddens me to say that Aksular has become a joke of a restaurant. What used to be a go-to spot for me is now a place I will not be returning to. It's a shame to see such a decline in an establishment that I once held in...
