We recently visited this café with two babies in buggies and, unfortunately, had quite an unwelcoming experience. As soon as we arrived, we were directed to sit near the toilets at the back of the shop. When we politely asked if we could sit elsewhere and move one chair to fit the buggy beside us, we were told there wasn’t enough space—even though there clearly was room after we joined two tables.
Shortly after, two other women with babies came in and were seated near the entrance by another staff member. Again, the same two staff who had served us looked visibly unhappy with their presence as well, which made the atmosphere feel tense and unfriendly.
It’s a shame because we actually came to enjoy a meal and coffee, but because the overall vibe was so unwelcoming, we just had our coffee and left within 40 minutes. It’s not the first time we’ve felt this kind of discomfort here when visiting with kids, and it really feels like families with children are not welcome.
If that’s truly the case, it would be more honest and respectful to make that clear with a sign or policy, rather than making parents feel like an inconvenience. We genuinely like the food and had hoped to spend more time there, but sadly won’t be returning unless the attitude toward...
Read moreI want to start off by saying that this place is absolutely beautiful. An easily accessible location as well as the interior design being very soothing and modern. I was conflicted on what to order as there were many dishes to choose from (I simply couldn’t choose because they all sounded nice😩). I ordered the fried goats cheese on French toast, and was curious to see how those flavours would play together.
To my surprise it tasted absolutely amazing, the fig jam, walnuts, the cinnamony French toast complimented the crispy and creamy goats cheese. The food was top tier, and the price matched the quality of food that I was given. I also ordered the strawberry matcha which I have never seen before anywhere, it tasted absolutely amazing.
The chef had made the utmost effort to ensure that the food came out both presentable and delicious. I am very pleased with my visit and will be...
Read moreA couple of weeks ago Bonema hosted my mother’s hen do & they made it unbelievably special. I enquired about a big group bottomless brunch booking & was met with fast insightful help from Cem who gave me so much assistance considering this was not something her cafe had done before. The staff during our visit were so kind, quick & helpful. The drinks & food were plated so beautifully (it’s a shame I don’t have any pictures) which sometimes to me indicates that the flavours wont be very good but they really were. I had the strawberry daqauri which was a perfect blend of sweet & alcoholic along with the chicken wrap which was as good as a chicken wrap could be. The staff did everything to make us feel special, along with a customised menu ( which is gorgeous and I’ve kept for safe keeping :) ). Thank you so much...
