La Vida Café and Bistro — Restaurant in London

Very good experience as we are taking the fact the place was packed into consideration 👌🏽 I'd definitely go back, staff were lovely and all the food I had (excluding the pulled lamb burger) was great. Hot chocolate was very nice and a decent size. Calmari was flavourful and crispy, halloumi fries were more like Mozerella (texture, taste and look) but the woman confirmed they were halloumi (don't expect halloumi fries as you would usually get them). They were extremely busy and they all did a great job, place was very tidy and clean. Alot of variety on the menu 😋

Details: The lamb burger had Taziki (but it was very chunky and sour not like in the Turkish shop where its grated, the pulled lamb was extremely wet yet compact note sure how its cooked being the issue or has a texture of it being frozen, the concept is great but the execution needs work), I took the lamb out and put it on top of my chips like loaded fries as the bread was falling apart from the sauce and wet lamb but it didn't make things much better. The lady came to check on me as I had a mouthful of food she said she would come back to me but never did (or I'd have told her the above).

We asked another lady for the bill, she forgot about us and no one else came for quite the duration, so we went up to go and pay.

I took my granddaughter (2 yrs) to have a breakfast with grandad, I ordered fish fingers for her, when they arrived they were soaked in oil and were frozen inside, I raised this with the staff who gave me the impression that I was over reacting and we didn’t bother to re order as we wasn’t going to wait again. I ordered a portion of chips for her instead and when the bill came it wanted £4.50 , I challenged the price and the adamant female staff said that was the price, I said it says £3 for a portion of chips but this staff member got quite defensive when I asked her to show me where she gets the £4:30 from , of course she couldn’t !!

She was trying to be polite but was defending something which was just in defendable which made her look very unprofessional I then left as I wasn’t going to argue in front of everyone but sometimes when a customer who has had raw fish presented to them for a 2yr old you need to give a little ! It was just very very poor customer service and I personally won’t be eating here again

Customers aren’t alway 100% correct but they are always the customer who should be respected

Recently visited this La Vida. Normally I come here for Breakfast but decided one evening to try out Dinner. Restaurant was empty, I had Burger & Fries, my Partner had Sirloin Steak. We had to chase the waitress to get our order in, then chase for our drinks. Once the food was delivered, my Partner had to chase them for the sauce that goes with the steak. It took them 5 min to bring it out. Anyway my Partner found the Steak (NOT A SIRLOIN) very rubbery & chewy and sent it back. She then ordered the Pasta instead. When it came to the bill, they charged us for the Steak. I refused to pay for the steak because it was not of good quality. The Waitress then explained that she been selling these steaks all day, and she is the one that buys food for the restaurant. She was very rude, and I said to her calmly again that I am not paying for the Steak. Then she tried to make me feel guilty saying that the steak will have to come out of her WAGES??? This is despicable! I will not be coming back to this place again. Service was very dire, the Staffs attitude was uncalled for, and they should serve proper Sirloin Steak, not the frying steaks you get from...
