I don't normally leave reviews for chains but this particular branch deserved it. I do always like the food from wimpy anyway, but the service and atmosphere in this woolwich shop made it exceptional. It has that welcoming feel like when you walk in your local cafe or kebab shop, where you walk in and the guys behind the counter know you by name, everyone working there feels like a big family, they all say hi and ask how you're doing, that sort of feel. It was my first time ordering in store rather than online and it just felt so personable i left with such a smile! Not just for me, but the orders that came in as i waited for food. Its a bit pricier than a BK or Maccies, but for the interactions I had and saw in this store in particular I'd choose it over the others when I'm after a decent fast food burger and fries any day.
On top of that, a great range of various different vegetarian / vegan options. The sides are more interesting than your usual fast food (cheesey onion rings are what I'd recommend trying)
Worth the extra price for me if you want to treat yourself to some decent fast food with...
Read moreExcited about sharing a Wimpy experience with a friend as I know Wimpy from my home town. Ordered the food, repeated order and waitress confirm the order. We waited about half an hour for the food, the order was incorrect, when we complained, the waitress argued with us, but eventually changed it which took a further 20 mins. When we went to pay, we asked for some compensation but that was denied and then asked to see the receipt as the incorrect meal price was different, but she refused to show us the receipt and insisted we pay first. After the payment was made, and we could see the amount was in fact incorrect as expected, (to make matters worse, we could see the other staff members eating the 'incorrect meal' while we were at the till) and she then rudely told us now there was nothing she could rectify as the payment had gone through!! An unacceptable and disappointing experience after my initial excitement! Will not be back and will inform...
Read morePopped into Wimpy Woolwich around 10:25am on a Thursday. The place was empty, which felt a bit sad—it's clear the franchise is struggling. That said, the experience itself was decent.
I waited a few minutes before being approached by staff, who were attentive and polite. I had my headphones on, but they still managed to get my attention in a respectful way—props for that. Ordered water with lemon, which came quickly, and I had two eggs, a sausage, and a coffee. Food was freshly made and tasted good.
The vibe in the restaurant was quiet—lacking energy—but clean and functional. It’s not the buzzing spot it probably used to be, but if you're after a calm, no-fuss breakfast with decent service, it does the job.
Overall: ✔️ Good food ✔️ Attentive staff ➖ Quiet atmosphere ➖ Needs a little spark to bring it...
