Great pub, don't be put off by Woolwich central square, this is a high-quality gastro pub with great interiors which look like suspended in time, great ales - I strongly suggest the local Hop Stuff and their Volden Pale Ale - but more importantly freshly made tasty food. All their dishes are entirely prepared in their kitchen.
Today we ordered the Sunday roasts: both the pork belly and the beef rib are great moist dishes, accompanied by homemade gravy, Yorkshire pudding, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, beef drip potatoes and carrots, plus home-made horseradish and apple sauce. It's also great value for money, as they all cost less than £15 and are a great complete meal, quantity-wise.
What I also like is their fish&chips: beneath the batter, their fillets are real fresh and tasty fish: they do taste like fish and have a distinctive flavour, instead of being rather anonymous cod fillets.

Also there is a seating area outside the front doors. The beers are good (they have soundwave 😉) and a selection of wine and other alcoholic and soft drinks, plus food. I've not tried any cocktails here so can't comment on that. On Thursdays it's quiz night which is good fun, hosted by Mike, a well learned gentleman. Fridays and Saturdays have live music. The staff are efficient, friendly and welcoming. Security at the door are on top form. What could be better - outside seating area could be separated a bit more from the public walking past (the train station is close by so expect a constant stream people passing by). #woolwichequitable #woolwichbars #bestinwoolwich #woolwich #quiznight #beerintheevening #coolbars #muatvisit...
Read moreAbsolutely love the Woolwich Equitable, it is currently the best pub in Woolwich Town Centre, this feels like the start of what is the future of Woolwich thanks to the Crossrail.
The staff are usually really friendly, sometimes get a bit overwhelmed at times, like when asked for 3 teas, they are more of a pub - pub but that's fine.
The food is amazing, had a roast, massive portions, £15 price point, came pretty fast and an open kitchen so you can see things.
The decor is lovely too, all chic-vintage-modern combination, has such a cosy feel to it, even has cinema chairs.
Will be visiting again for sure,...
