Having eaten here since being a child. The customer service is gross. This noodle house is not my local, yet being a customer for many years means little or nothing to the staff here. Ive tried various over the 24 years I have visited here. I'm quite sure the ownership has changed about 3 times. Some years ago this noodle house had a well needed refit and sadly the food is not standing up to what you may hope for. I've tried a lamb curry from here and the meat was certainly not Lamb! Neither was it beef or duck! Had a house special soup recently. The chicken had a bad texture, as well as a nasty taste - The chicken was off!! The staff here demand you to pay up front. Apparently the African customers run off without paying (so i am told). After eating here for many years, they told me the new chef wont add a small spoon of garlic into my soup! Even though I was happy to pay extra! I had a side of what was supposedly chicken wings, yet not a single wing was served whole. They'd been diced. So you just had deep fried chicken bones with batter. Disgraceful!! I'll not be eating here ever again for as long as the same nonchalant staff are employed here. It's a very sad ending to what was a loyal and long term customer. I would certainly avoid this place now and shall be seeking a new noodle bar! I would even go as far as suggesting health inspectors reviewing the kitchen. Trading standard should get involved. They're not selling what they're advertising
I'll be happy if this...
Read moreI visited last week in an effort to cheer myself up. The restaurant has more a kind of feel of a Chinese cafe than Chinese restaurant. You need to order at the counter, don't expect serving staff to take your order.
I had chicken and sweetcorn soup, deep fried spare ribs, sesame prawn toast, beef curry and fried rice. Yes, I know I concentrated on starters, but it is what it is! :-)
The food arrived quickly and all within a few minutes, starters and main course.
The soup was nice and hot, but lacked chicken and sweetcorn. I mean, it had none. Nothing.
The ribs were good.
The sesame prawn toast had a very thin prawn coating. So thin that I ended up skimming the prawn off the bread.
And finally the main course. Well, what can I say? It was a large helping with plenty of rice, onion, curry sauce. Not much in the way of beef.
Now, I must say that the service was quick. The serving ladies were polite and nice. The price was £27. The place was frequented by a number of Chinese people, so perhaps it's down to my expectations, but I would have paid more money to actually get chicken and sweetcorn in my chicken and sweetcorn soup, prawn on my sesame prawn toast, oh and beef in...
Read moreThe food here is good although the customer service is absolutely terrible. After she took my order over the phone she just hanged up which I thought was rude. 20 minutes later I rung in to find out how long my food will be to make my way to get it finding out no card payments and cash only was accepted. Getting home one of the dishes I ordered for fried Singapore noodles without duck had duck inside (makes me wonder as I’ve just seen reviews of how the food went off fast and one with food poisoning if their food is made fresh…hmmm). I was really looking forward to my noodles which led to complete disappointment because I couldn’t eat it (I’ve provided photos and from what I’m aware of duck meat is REDdish in colour) I rang in and they also confirmed with the kitchen that they did not put it in (now basically I’m the liar). I was told to bring it in and get an exchange which is a waste of my time, energy and fuel as this is their mistake not mine. I couldn’t even bother after spending £43. The service customers receive is important and the standards in this place aren’t met. Won’t...
