I wish I didn't have to leave this review but this place is quite shocking! My usual food place wasn't open because of Ramadan so the rest of us have to find other places to eat. I have been here before but it is not my go to place! The service was fine. I ordered 4 lamb kebab rolls to take away and everything was packaged as I requested. However, Ā£22 for 4 kebab rolls is so expensive. I was also not given my change! When I got home I opened the tin container with the kebabs in and there were only 4! Kebab rolls always come with 2 kebabs per roll. Disgusted with how much I paid for such a simple meal and the fact I didn't get my change means I paid actually paid more for less! They also gave barbeque sauce and mayonnaise! It is meant to come with yoghurt and chilli sauce. No wonder it was empty! If you look at the photo I had to add my own yoghurt and siracha. You can just about see under the salad is actually the one kebab for my roll I had cut up šŸ˜‚šŸ˜. Anglo-indian woman alone. I point that out as I never received this service here before when I come with my father...

I came all the way from Hainault to Buy Jelabi, there was a guy after me. They were talking and the guy was ignoring me. I waited for 10 minutes and a customer came behind me and he talk to him in Urdo or Hindi. Then he starts serving him and he gave him all the jelabi, then he told me how can I help you, I told him, he came just now and I was here why did you serve him, he started lying 🤄 and talking like ladies. Then I told him make a new Jelabi, he seems very panicking and he told me yes. Then he was trying to turn on the cooker and cooker dont want to turn on because he was panicking. Then he told me there is no Jelabi. Even his hand were dirty and there was a hair on the clingfilm above the white food on the container. Don't know the name, it is milky šŸ‘€ What an idiot person to allow him to run a small business. Zero star, zero service.

Woke up on Sunday very hungry and it was a rainy morning....had the craving for halwa puri and decided to give Yaadgaar a go. Got there just after 09:00am and was served promptly. 1st impressions were that the shop is very clean and bright. I ordered takeaway 2 portions of halwa puri which was in total 6 puris, 2x tubs of channay, aloo and halwa. Channay and aloo taste is top, great tasting achaar onions were also given as a garnish. The puris were very light and non greasy. The halwa was really nice too. Very good value @Ā£4 a portion. I dont want to ruin this specific review as it is based on the breakfast but I have to mention that I also purchased some mithai (sweets) which were not very nice or fresh. It may have been an old batch....will give benefit of doubt and try another day.

If your a fan of Ambala then this place is not for you. Doesn't taste the same at all. Im not a fan. Each taste bud to their own though. The other lost star is the service is not very fast even though I was the only customer in the store took about 15mins all in to fill a mixed box.

They are on deliveroo* which is convinient but delivery prices are super inflated.

They run the monopoly in goodmayes. So not much choice.

Edit: the owner replied below.... Quite negatively...Never understand why some restaurants get so defensive in replies. Feedback is gold dust. Just take it in. Improve. Try again.

The service was slow, undoubtly. It did take 15mins. Your front of house floor worker was taking calls. Easily fixed, there were staff in the kitchen just chatting could be trained to help out front when required.

I'm removing another star and taking it down to one as its obvious the service reflects the management's attitude towards customers. Any review that's not five stars management replies back to say you are dishonest?! Absolutely bizarre. I think management needs to be trained before the staff as its obviously run...

In response to the owner; Please sir everyone knows how much chana from a tin can costs… what rise in price of raw material? Do not make me laugh. And secondly; I never asked for take away. I said to eat in from the get go,- its not my fault I was served cold food, regardless of how you word it!

The actual review; I used to go eat a lunch time deal right as this place first opened up. Good value for money, at £3.99: a large thali with halwa, chole & 3 bhaturas.

The place looks really pretty now (almost a year later)… it’s definitely levelled up LOOKS WISE. Food wise however? Not at all.

They serve the same thali selection, with additional potato curry. To my dismay the once average, but cheap dishes are still average just NOT cheap. At Ā£5.99 a dish, I can’t forgive the fact that my food was microwaved (yet still served cold), and my bhaturas overly greasy. The potato curry was bland and lacking salt and the chana heavy on a bitter spice (?) The staff was nice but with the price rise and the quality being mediocre at best, I shall not...
