If your a fan of Ambala then this place is not for you. Doesn't taste the same at all. Im not a fan. Each taste bud to their own though. The other lost star is the service is not very fast even though I was the only customer in the store took about 15mins all in to fill a mixed box.
They are on deliveroo* which is convinient but delivery prices are super inflated.
They run the monopoly in goodmayes. So not much choice.
Edit: the owner replied below.... Quite negatively...Never understand why some restaurants get so defensive in replies. Feedback is gold dust. Just take it in. Improve. Try again.
The service was slow, undoubtly. It did take 15mins. Your front of house floor worker was taking calls. Easily fixed, there were staff in the kitchen just chatting could be trained to help out front when required.
I'm removing another star and taking it down to one as its obvious the service reflects the management's attitude towards customers. Any review that's not five stars management replies back to say you are dishonest?! Absolutely bizarre. I think management needs to be trained before the staff as its obviously run...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I didn't have to leave this review but this place is quite shocking! My usual food place wasn't open because of Ramadan so the rest of us have to find other places to eat. I have been here before but it is not my go to place! The service was fine. I ordered 4 lamb kebab rolls to take away and everything was packaged as I requested. However, Ā£22 for 4 kebab rolls is so expensive. I was also not given my change! When I got home I opened the tin container with the kebabs in and there were only 4! Kebab rolls always come with 2 kebabs per roll. Disgusted with how much I paid for such a simple meal and the fact I didn't get my change means I paid actually paid more for less! They also gave barbeque sauce and mayonnaise! It is meant to come with yoghurt and chilli sauce. No wonder it was empty! If you look at the photo I had to add my own yoghurt and siracha. You can just about see under the salad is actually the one kebab for my roll I had cut up šš. Anglo-indian woman alone. I point that out as I never received this service here before when I come with...
Read moreIn response to the owner; Please sir everyone knows how much chana from a tin can costs⦠what rise in price of raw material? Do not make me laugh. And secondly; I never asked for take away. I said to eat in from the get go,- its not my fault I was served cold food, regardless of how you word it!
The actual review; I used to go eat a lunch time deal right as this place first opened up. Good value for money, at £3.99: a large thali with halwa, chole & 3 bhaturas.
The place looks really pretty now (almost a year later)⦠itās definitely levelled up LOOKS WISE. Food wise however? Not at all.
They serve the same thali selection, with additional potato curry. To my dismay the once average, but cheap dishes are still average just NOT cheap. At Ā£5.99 a dish, I canāt forgive the fact that my food was microwaved (yet still served cold), and my bhaturas overly greasy. The potato curry was bland and lacking salt and the chana heavy on a bitter spice (?) The staff was nice but with the price rise and the quality being mediocre at best, I shall not...
