Had started to use this café over the last few months as convenient location & not bad for food & beverages, also a nice friendly bunch of girls providing a good customer service & wanting to get it right.
However on a recent visit there was a different face, an individual with a serious attitude problem who took my very simple order in a manner as if her day had someone been rudely disturbed by the appearance of an actual customer; she attempted my order with all the aplomb grace & friendliness of a Rottweiler on the attack.
Being the fair person that I am, as ever I maintained polite professionalism whilst the woman for no reason at all, continued to display a confrontational & bullying attitude & make disparaging remarks in the background as a colleague then finished & corrected her pathetic & shoddily made effort.
It transpired that the rude, unpleasant, ignorant & arrogant woman was actually the owner. Needless to say that was my last visit, nor will staff or colleagues be sent to this establishment any longer for regular food rounds. Lessons on how not to run a business or treat customers.
The owner would also be well advised to remember not only her manners but that there are other cafes virtually next door as well as Starbucks & Costa coffee shops a stone’s throw away. Embarrassing not just for her & her so called business but for decent & kind...
Read moreHaving just read the previous review from “Anonymous” I felt I should share my experience at Eden. In a word, FANTASTIC! I have been going there for around 5 years and I am always served by very pleasant staff (ALL of them). There is an extensive menu which is great and staff are always happy to cater to your specific requirements. I can’t recommend this place enough for choice, its friendly staff and relaxing environment. I can only assume that the previous reviewer’s vitriolic outpourings stem from his/her own attitude or perhaps the reviewer has an axe to grind because their unreasonable demands were not met. I for one will continue to have my lunch at Eden. I hope “Anonymous” will be happier with the faceless soul-less Starbucks/Costa route they have chosen and as they are fond of saying in those establishments...

The Untoasted muffin and meek hollandaise bring down the overall score but the honey roast ham instead of bacon I'm sorry to say leaves a very bad taste in the mouth and the price is not competitive considering these things. I had nothing else on the menu so can't comment here but the place was busy and people were enjoying their visit. Eden is very accommodating to families and there's plenty of room for a pushchair. Thanks for catering for non caffeine drinkers, the decaf vanilla latte...
