Lashings Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Maidstone

Went there for a birthday meal with family and friends, when we arrived we wasnt shown to our table just pointed in the general direction and told it's ready for us, even though the table had more seats than we reserved. Our drink orders were never taken, had to stand at the busy bar waiting and only after ordering them a waitress came to take them, within minutes of sitting down our starters were served and again within minutes of the table being cleared our main course was brought out, not allowing us to have any breathing space in between, the waitress had to ask a colleague if she was allowed to take our drink orders at the table and when being served (both food and drink) we was leant over by the waitress. Then while our desserts were being served the waitress came out and without any subtlety asked if we wanted the surprise birthday cake in front of everyone, which ruined that for me, we was then greeted by one of the patrons from the smoking area casually walk into the indoor eating area with a lit cigarette without a care in the world and the staff not even batting an eyelid even with the "no smoking" signs. Our food was mediocre at best. We had to keep repeating our questions to the staff as none of them seemed to fully understand English. When booking our table originally we was told we had to preorder our meal as they were meant to be busy, we was the only table there the whole night. Overall we was not happy with our meal or the service, we felt like we was being rushed through the whole thing and definitely wont be going back there or recommending it to anyone...

A brief visit, the pub was clean and tidy, but also very quiet - we were the only customers at the time! (13:30ish on a Saturday) The drinks were average prices for a pub; that is to say expensive, but the service was prompt and friendly. I think food is served there in the evening, but if it's anything like the drink prices, I'd rather eat at a 'Spoons. The main seating area has a 'Patio' that opens onto Stone street - which is both a blessing and a curse; there's air flow, but it's tainted with exhaust fumes and there's the perpetual noise of trucks, buses and...

Awful place. The girl Chloe serving me was rude and started drama too. Not a nice place to go. My friend also had a glass thrown at his head here before and it is too small and too busy at times which make it feel like your stuck in a box. Didn't like how unfriendly the staff were and the ignorance of the girl who is not experienced at all. Also the drink selection isn't the best I've seen and you would expect more from a bar like that. Never going back there. Been to far friendlier and...
