Notorious BRG Maidstone — Restaurant in Maidstone

I chose Notorious BRG for my daughter's 4th birthday lunch, hoping for a nice, quality treat. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.

The food quality was genuinely concerning. Both my partner and I were finding hard, sharp, gristly, and even bone like pieces in our burgers, which was immediately off putting. The bread was also poor, dry, hard in places, and crumbly. We became increasingly worried about the safety of the meat our four year old was eating, which is when I finally spoke to the staff.

The initial female server handled the situation perfectly, she was empathetic and professional.

However, the manager's response completely soured the experience. Instead of an apology, he was defensive and dismissive. He disregarded my valid concerns about the hard bits in the meat and the dry bread, basically lecturing me on the 'quality' of their cooking process, even implying that my concerns were unwarranted because he would have eaten it. While he offered a partial refund and an alternative for my daughter, his lack of basic customer service skills and general attitude truly impacted my mood on what was supposed to be a special day.

We ended up asking for the remaining food, including my daughter's almost full burger, to be taken away and refunded.

The Bottom Line: A manager who forces his opinion down a customer's throat while dismissing a legitimate food safety concern, especially one impacting a child's meal is unacceptable. The food quality was poor, but the management response was worse. We will not...

I came here the other day to get a burger for my daughter. The guy was really polite and friendly. He pointed out the kids menu to me but I said my daughter doesn’t like fries and he said he can replace fries with nachos which sounded like a great alternative. Unfortunately it wasn’t nachos we received. It was just a handful of plain tortilla chips with a spicy seasoning sprinkled on them. My daughter couldn’t eat the burger as she said it was way too spicy. I tried it and it was quite spicy. For children’s burgers in my opinion you shouldn’t make things spicy as they won’t eat it. My wife and I drove over an hour to visit Notorious BRG and it was SO worth the journey! Food was tasty and filling. We were spoilt for choice as everything could be made vegan without compromising. The Notorious BRG burger's filling was wonderfully proportioned and we really appreciated the gerkins. The Bacon Mac was rich and cheesy and the fries were incredible with a sweet hoisin sauce.
