The Zoo Maidstone — Restaurant in Maidstone

We went to the 80s themed brunch. Pizza and 5 drinks for £25. The pizza was disgusting. Cold and raw on the bottom, it was the same situation for everyone. Drinks took 30 to 60 mins to come out after ordering!! It was ridiculous. The security guards were incredibly miserable as well. The DJ was good though, we all thoroughly enjoyed the music, only saving grace! Certainly would never go back.

As you can see from the owners response, it's a very poorly managed establishment! Apparently I shouted at staff? You have just pointed out you don't know my name, but you're accusing me of shouting at people? If you don't know who I am how can you say that? I didn't shout at anyone, I didn't even complain about how long it was taking. We devised a tactic of ordering the next round each time we recieved a round to cut down the wait time between drinks. The staff were all very nice, it's not them thats the problem, it's the way it's run. Despite the very slow service and disgusting food I still had a great time with my friends and family and danced and laughed the afternoon away. I made the best of a very bad situation! It's quite clear from the number of terrible reviews for this bar that I'm not "poisonous" (unlike the raw pizza dough =D) just someone who reviews every place they go with honesty, it's just a shame some people can't handle that. Anyone reading this review feel free to go through my previous reviews for other places and see that I can write very positive reviews if somewhere does decent food and has good service! And to the manager of zoo - I feel so sorry for you, you must have some serious issues to act this way...

We booked a table to watch England v Ukraine. As a closed ticketed event we thought this would mean sensible numbers and good Covid practice. My wife had been here several times before last year when places first started reopening after lockdown and she said it was well run in line with Covid regs. That is not the case now. This place is disgusting. Spilled drinks everywhere and not cleaned up. The toilets had piss everywhere, including the basin. There was also blood splattered around. Staff knew but did nothing. There were far too many people in for it to be Covid safe. Our table was actually right next to the screen, so much so 2 of our group had to look around the back of the screen to watch another across the room. The other 2 of us moved our bench entirely and almost joined another group so as to be able to watch. Drinks service was near non existent. We ordered a round before the match started and by half time still had no drinks. This was a common theme for everyone there. The poor staff running drinks to tables looked bewildered and haggard and none wore masks! When asked about orders had no idea and just said "we're busy". Will not be returning to this Covid hot-spot. We used to joke at how dirty the place was when it was Bar Chocolate....

Went in for a few drinks with some friends from work and there were only two tables in at the time, we also work in a bar in town so we are aware of how service can run on a busy night but we were shocked by how slow the service was with just two tables, we spotted the lady who was meant to be serving us standing down the road not even in the establishment chatting to what appeared to be some friends while our drinks sat on the side of the bar for over ten minutes and when we complained how long we had been waiting while the server was half way down the road the owner dressed in a tracksuit told us "don't f*cking come back here then" absolutely disgusting and clearly don't care about the customers experience at all. Do not recommend at all, second time I've been here and it's been very badly run...
