Shockingly average. Due to the reviews and 'grand' decor and atmosphere, we expected, even when walking in, to be impressed. But sadly that was the not the case. Seated at a long table in an alcove. The staff were really friendly, but very slow. Drinks that were ordered together came at separate times, meaning at all points of the dinner, at least 1 person of our table lacked a drink. The staff acknowledged this, and apologised, several times, with a different valid reason every time. But still... Drinks were nice, cocktails were lovely with a healthy choice of regulars and house cocktails. The food, was a mixed affair. Every portion was visually stunning, i've attached photos of dishes I'll be mentioning. The squid was ordered by one of use as a starter based on waiter recommendation, it was room temperature, with the insides being one level above 'cold', with an extremely bland taste. The pork, was exceptional, with lovely greens and silky mash, with a balanced palete of subtle tastes. The trio desert, while a fun idea, failed. The fondant on the trio, and profiteroles, for example, were over cooked and both, extremely chewy. Overall, the food was a 3/5, some highlights and lowlights, we collectively agreed it was style over substance, as in presentation was better than taste. Sadly, not worthy of a higher price point. We did raise to staff, but they didn't acknowledge it, despite us as a group leaving the dishes that didn't excel. Atmosphere was lovely, calm and the decor was beautiful and grand. Slightly odd long walk to bathroom. Oh well. Card machine didn't work at the table, due to 'singal issue' so we had to on leaving, pay at the bar area. Would recommend if we had a one off experience that wasn't great, but overall, better to be...

Once the remaining members of our party arrived, and a little bit of time was given to review the menu, our order was taken. When the starters had arrived, we had noticed there was one missing (child's vegetable dippers from the allergen menu). When we questioned this with our server, who was the one highlight of the evening, and she had ventured into the kitchen, she returned to advise us that there were no dippers left available. This was after the order was taken and all other starters had been on the table for 10 minutes. When we had finished with the starters, it was a short time until the mains arrived. Again once 9 of our 10 mains had arrived, we had noticed a member of our party was missing a risotto. Upon noticing, a staff member informed us that the chef had not started the risotto at the time the order was placed and they would be starting it then. Unfortunately, the risotto arrived 5 minutes later, I'm not sure what sort of amazing cooking skills your chefs have, but I have never seen a risotto cooked in 5 minutes. This was proven by the fact that only half of the dish was cooked and the rest was a mixture of uncooked rice. This was my second visit to Browns, but may very...

This restaurant is definitely one of the best I've experienced in Manchester. You have the opportunity to order from two different menus, one of which is a value-priced combination of 2 or 3 courses from the starter, main, and dessert menus. (I'm not sure if this is available on weekends.)

The staff at this restaurant are some of the most polite, professional, and friendly I have ever encountered. They go above and beyond to make sure that every guest has a positive dining experience. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. The atmosphere in the restaurant is luxurious and inviting. The décor is elegant and sophisticated, and the lighting is subdued and romantic. The food and drinks at this restaurant are of the highest quality. The ingredients are fresh and seasonal, and the dishes are prepared with care and attention to detail. The menu features a variety of dishes, from classic to modern, so there is something to please everyone. The restaurant also has a good selection of wines and cocktails to complement your meal.

I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or simply for a great...

A really mixed review here so bear with me. We've been here before in the past and really enjoyed it, but this review is based on today's visit. Some of the issues below might have been solved had I asked to move seats, but my wife doesn't like me to make a fuss (nor should I have to). Firstly we were positioned in a section near the toilets, we were kind of hidden from view, which might have impacted the service we received. The building itself is beautiful with such lovely decor. If Browns read this review, you need some sort of soft close on the toilet doors to stop them banging and some WD40 on the hinges whenever needed to stop the squeaking. We waited for 20mins just to be served a drink which for me is just not acceptable, but this was a bit of a theme for the visit, having to push my chair back to try get a view of a waiter/waitress from our hidden area. The main pasta dish I had was OK at best, but I think I might just have chosen poorly. Everything else was really tasty, especially my wife's starter (Chorizo and Prawns). So food was overall great, just the service and table location brought the whole meal down for us.
