Museum of Illusions Manchester – A Truly Mind-Bending Experience!
We recently visited the Museum of Illusions in Manchester, and it was absolutely fantastic! If you're looking for something fun, unique, and a little surreal in the city, this place is a must-visit.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported into a world where nothing was quite as it seemed. What really made the experience special was how interactive everything was. We had so much fun trying to figure out the illusions, and the photo opportunities were brilliant. We spent ages in the Reversed Room taking hilarious upside-down shots, and the Vortex Tunnel gave us a real challenge with our balance—in the best way possible!
The Manchester-themed illusions, like the tram and the building hang, added a clever local touch that we really appreciated. But it wasn’t just about the visual tricks—each exhibit came with a clear explanation of how the illusion works, which made the experience educational and fascinating for all ages.
The staff were incredibly helpful, accommodative and friendly. A special shout-out to Izzie, who was an absolute star! Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she went above and beyond to help us capture the perfect photos. Her knowledge and energy really enhanced our visit—keep up the great work, Izzie!
Whether you're visiting with kids, teenagers, or adults, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We left with some amazing, head-scratching photos and a new appreciation for how easily our minds can be tricked. It’s a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours filled with fun, laughter, and wonder. Locker and toilet facilities available inside which is very handy. Highly...

Upon arriving at the Museum of Illusion Manchester, we were warmly greeted by a lovely lady at the entrance. She not only explained where everything was but also showed us where to securely store our belongings in the free lockers. Impressively, she used sign language alongside her spoken instructions, which we found thoughtful and inclusive.
The museum itself was incredible, filled with mind-bending illusion stations that were both fascinating and hilarious. Some exhibits left us in awe, while others had us laughing out loud—it was such a fun experience!
Since it was just me and my partner, we struggled a bit to get good photos of the two of us together. Luckily, a kind woman offered to take a few pictures for us (I regret not catching her name). Later, we met Charles, who truly made our visit unforgettable. He not only took the time to chat with us but also went out of his way to revisit parts of the museum with us, ensuring we got perfect couple photos. His kindness and effort really stood out, and we can’t thank him enough.
Overall, we had an amazing day and would highly recommend the Museum of Illusion Manchester to anyone looking for a unique and...
Read moreI visited here a few weeks ago on their opening week. The displays were good and it was a lot bigger than I thought but my issue with it was that there was nowhere suitable to breastfeed my baby. The website did explicitly say that it was inclusive to all so I thought no issues. At the end I went to reception to ask as I couldn’t see any seats anywhere. The cashier suggested I feed my 8 week old sitting on the toilet which obviously isn’t sanitary. Another staff member brought me back through the museum to one of two benches in the whole place in a noisy bright interactive room. I ended up feeding him stood up in the lobby where two members eventually brought me a chair and I could feed him down a hallway. They don’t need a designated place to feed a baby whether it’s breast or bottle they just need some more seating throughout, particularly somewhere in the lobby. It felt like I was discouraged based on the total lack of seating and zero staff awareness. The fully inclusive statement needs looking at again as lots of the interactive displays aren’t for people of different physical capabilities, coupled with the lack of...
