BEST BRUNCH I'VE HAD IN MCR SO FAR! Me and my partner went Moose Coffee had brunch today. It was quite busy as we went there around lunch time, and we were waiting for 30 mins. Turned out it's worth to wait!
We had salty caramel latte, bronx brunch, lone star moose and pancake streaky bacon.
Salty Caramel Latte It was the special drink that recommended by the staff, with cream or without by choice. If you prefer more milky flavor, you should choose with cream; if you feel fat like I do, then no cream 😂 with or without cream both taste great anyways!
Bronx Brunch This was my partner's, served with two sunnyside up eggs, brown bread (or white bread by choice) with butter on the side, fried potatoes and sausage pieces, and a bit beef.
Lone Star Moose This was the one I ordered, it's kinda similar to bronx brunch. Served with two sunnyside up eggs, brown bread (or white by choice) with butter on the side, grilled half tomato, 3 sausages, one small steak with mustard seed sauce on the top and fried potatoes. The steak itself was kinda small, you can actually finish it with one bite. Mustard seed sauce matched perfectly with the steak. It would be better if the steak could be bigger.
Pancake with Streaky Bacon We asked the staff for the recommendation for the dessert, this was what we got and it didn't disappoint us. The portion was pretty big, so me and my partner shared together. Pancake itself taste amazing, it's firmed but also soft at same time. It had some kind of tasty flour flavor in it, and it's tasty already without maple syrup. Also the pancake was thick, not like the random cheap & thin kind you get from other brunch places. They are generous with maple syrup, you don't need to worry that you don't have enough then your pancake will be too dry too eat, that won't happen here! Bacon was amazing, wasn't too tough to eat.
Overall it's a great place to have brunch! The quality of the food was amazing, not to mention staffs were lovely as well! I'd definitely go back again and try other things on the menu! Yumm yumm!!
P.s Sunnyside up eggs were runny, if you don't like runny, remember to ask them if they can do over hard or just tell them how you would like your eggs...
Read moreI'm notoriously hard to please, so when a friend said this was a "go-to", I was sceptical.
The premises are tidy and well presented, in a quiet but smart area within the city centre. The suggestion is that it's an American / Canadian breakfast diner and coffee shop. As I'm neither American nor Canadian, I have no idea how or authentic it is. Frankly, I don't care. I didn't go for a whiff of the Rockies. I went to have Saturday breakfast.
The first thing to say is, book. If you don't reserve a table, you can't rock up, tilt your head to one side and say "Aww, please". If they're busy, you'll be told, very sweetly, to come back in an hour.
There's a reason why this place is popular. The staff are well trained. My table was clean, instead of nearly clean. I could see the true colour of the table surface. I wasn't looking at it through a film of other people's breakfast. When I finished looking at the menu selections, a server stopped what she was doing and came to take my order. I didn't have to catch her eye. She was aware. The kitchen staff, likewise, know what they're doing. I had the Bronx Brunch. Like an earlier reviewer, I can testify to it's excellence. The fried eggs had deep yellow yolks that oozed nicely when broken into. When I'd finished, the plate disappeared as if it had gone out of fashion. All the while, smooth jazz played in the background. I'd have stayed longer and had a second cup of their quite excellent coffee, but there are only so many liberties you can take with a dodgy prostate. Mine was blowing the final whistle (not in a mortal sense, I hasten to add).
I always think breakfast represents excellent value for money. When you take into account the time required to prepare a good breakfast, in a quantity that satisfies, £20 is not a lot to pay. Mine was worth every penny.
One last recommendation. There's another Moose Coffee outside Piccadilly Railway Station. It's far more business like. Because of its location, its diners have somewhere else they need to be. Food might be gobbled instead of savoured, but visiting is no...
Read moreI'd give 0 stars if it was possible. This use to be one of my favourite breakfast spots in Manchester.
However, in our last visit it was so bad that I'm not sure I would go back or recommend it to anyone.
We arrived at the restaurant for our booking which we made as we know breakfast time at the good spots are usually very busy. We were told when we arrived that they are only serving waffles and pancakes which was fine because a large part of the menu is waffles and pancakes. We ordered drinks and I asked another staff member about the situation again and he said "meat" was the issue. When it came to ordering it turns out they couldn't do anything other than 4 items of sweet waffles/pancakes. At which point we walked out.
What annoyed us was not the fact that there was a kitchen situation, $h* happens. What was abysmal was the customer service side of things. Right at the start, we should have been informed exactly what we can order. We were ravenous and then had to spend ages to find somewhere to get in for breakfast, our little one was screaming.
As constructive criticism from a customer point of view:
Inform customer precisely what's available for order before they go to sit down and order drinks.
Be sincere, open and honest and customers will be a lot more understanding than you think.
Go the extra mile especially when you have a sister store near by. You could do easily have said " I am so sorry for the inconvenience, I've organised with our sister store form you to have a table there if you don't mind walking across" think about the brand.
Complimentary drinks would have been a nice touch for the misunderstanding/bad...
