I was insulted in another language, thinking I wouldn’t understand, due to the attendant not comprehending what she was saying herself. Blaming me for her own confusion.
If you want to eat, I’m sure you’ll be fine with the food, if you’re expecting to speak to someone, best save your breath. I have never seen such appalling customer service in my life, especially having worked in the industry from a young age.
I can understand a language barrier. I can understand that it is late at night and everyone wants to go home. I can understand that you may have incorrectly read the order. I can understand that you are not having the time of the day. But taking back a second and realising the issue is much simpler than you are making it out to be, would make everyone’s life much easier.
Walking away from the situation without conforming whether you’ve understood what has been said, also doesn’t help.
Especially if minutes later I am given the wrong order after that...

In response to the restaurant reply, I did contact Deliveroo and they did not issue a refund, they said they can’t do anything. The restaurant typically needs to contact them for them to refund. Yours wouldn’t. Restaurants need to take ownership of situations like this, it’s not a customer’s fault that there’s no choice now but to use these delivery services and then this can happen and nobody takes ownership. Sorry but I’m sick of it.
Final offer to the restaurant: I will take down this review when you call Deliveroo and you get this order refunded. Until then, it stays up. You can either keep the £60+ or take ownership and get it refunded. So if this review stays here, it will say a lot about the ownership you take for your customer’s experience. Read moreVery poor service! Ordered on Uber eats got to delivery time and order was cancelled which is frustrating anyway when your hungry. Called up and asked why? and apparently the address wasn’t filled in properly despite me ordering from other takeaways to my address weekly with no issues. Called and said would pick up instead as my partner was near by and was advised they will make fresh and we will need to pay again as order was cancelled and Uber eats will refund us. Annoying but ok.. partner gets there and they told us him the order was cancelled?? And wasn’t making fresh.
Not only that the first time we tried this place I had chicken and sweetcorn pizza and my stomach was so bad the next day all day! Thought i would try again and give it another go just no chicken this time as didn’t want to risk it and then receive this poor service and no apology.
