Gemini Café — Restaurant in Manchester

Ordered a full English breakfast, which came with black pudding, asked to switch it for a hash brown, and the presenter immediately tried to negotiate me down to a toast, as the (what I assume to be the) manager leant over and said it was fine. The presenter was also very rude, made the the cup of tea (£1.30 btw) on the side next to me, didn't hand it to me, didn't gesture it was there, just walked away. I had to assume the tea was mine. Then the food arrived and i have literally one mushroom chopped in to quarters as my 'fried mushrooms', and a tomato barely fried. This whole meal was £6.80 for some tea and a disappointing meal. Also it came out within 7-8 minutes which makes me worry about the preparation methods. It wouldn't surprise me if someone told me the sausages were tofu. Seriously. Like must be less than 2% meat.

I pass by this cafe everyday and decided to finally try it out today. I ordered a jacket potato with two toppings - chilli and cheese and got a takeaway. When I got home i was really upset to see the entire box covered in beans and some kind of meat. I’m highly allergic to beans and I only eat chicken in meat so I called the restaurant to see if they could replace it with a delivery. I’m not sure who picked up but he was quite rude about the entire situation claiming I should’ve known better about what ingredients a ‘ chili con carne’ has. I specifically mentioned I only wanted cheese and chili and that I did not ask for anything else. He just asked me to raise a complaint if I wanted to. Very disappointed with the food and the service. I can’t eat what I’ve bought and it was a complete waste of money. Would not recommend this...

I visited mid morning, the place was quite quiet. I was greeted warmly by the lady behind the counter. My order was taken in a friendly and efficient manner, and was told my order ‘black Americano & sausage on toast would be brought to me! I chose to sit outside, this was a great choice as I like people watching and this is a busy area. My order arrived in timely fashion, the coffee was nice and a decent size. The sausage on toast was ok, standard catering sausages. However I added tomato sauce the tomato sauce bottles give the impression it is Heinz! With how liquid the sauce was I doubt very much it’s Heinz or it’s watered down. This spoiled the visit a little. However on scoring I have taken into account the price and believe value is offered. I don’t get to this part of Manchester very often. I would stop for a coffee...
