We were there early. We got there at 3:50pm. The manager came over to let us know that the chefs and staff will be eating from 4pm until 4:30pm or if you order now then we cook for you quickly. So I said that's not a problem, we are happy to wait until you guys finish your meal but could we order drinks now while looking at the menu... half of menu dishes were out of stock. Not a lot of choices. I also asked about the Beijing duck, if we could have the duck leg chopped and serve with the slices of duck... the manager said he never seen this happen before. So I replied, in Hong Kong and other places they do this for us. Then he said nothing and said I'll check if any Beijing duck. He didn't get back to us to let us know. Then a waitress came over and spoke Mandarin so I replied back in Cantonese and she didn't understand so I spoken English and she still didn't understand... Anyway the food came within 5 minutes. That's never a good sign if food is served to you so quick after ordering... before eating one member of staff was smoking inside because can smell it strong. While eating all of the staff were at the bar area and some sat down at the table on the tablets. Not one of them came round to check if everything was ok. I even had to take my empty tea pot over the one of the staff to ask for top up. When we left, not one of them said thank you, goodbye see you next again. As a Chef, I can clearly see they didn't get you a full Beijing duck while they charge you £36.80 for it. The main course dishes were small especially the ribs in OK sauce. The other pork dish, the pork were small pieces and can't even taste the sauce. The dan dan noodles had more beansprouts than noodles. Was so disappointed. This place is not recommended and waste of a...

Read moreAll staff were friendly besides 1-2 main waitresses that stood out. We were made to feel uncomfortable they kept staring at us and stood right next to our table as we ate, did not see them doing this to anyone else. I understand language barriers but when we asked questions about what drink we were being given we were just ignored and the drink was placed in front of a random person on the table so we were made to assume we were given the correct drink. The atmosphere wasn’t great, felt like we were just being judged and watched the whole time by these ladies. When we wanted to pay for the meal the lady kept asking me to tip. I usually do tip when I feel the service is good but it wasn’t good. I also don’t feel I should be pressured into tipping. I gave a tip anyway (because of the pressure) and the lady asked me ‘no cash?’ I said ‘no cash sorry’ and they seemed disappointed like the tip on the machine isn’t good enough. It really wasn’t comfortable. I wouldn’t have written this review had I not read through and saw another customer had a similar experience. The food is good, the manager (I’m assuming) was great with my mother who had allergies, very understanding everyone else was kind and friendly but we just didn’t feel...
