I carried a Pret Cup, walked into this Starbucks and just ordered a Large Vanilla Matcha Latte at this Starbucks.
Itâs not my first time here but it is definitely my last time being a Starbucks customer.
All the staff (the staff who took my order & and the staff who made the latte were decent and lovely) expected one.
There was a staff and who was not wearing any uniform or nametag so I didnât know what her position there for now I called her A.
I asked for a cup holder cause I canât carry two cups a once. The other staff was making another drink so he asked A to bring me a cup holder. A said (quote on quote): âNo, the other one you didnât buy from here so I canât give it to youâ. I was silenced for a moment because I didnât know what to say and she continued: âCanât sorryâ.
To that woman A who treated me so badly today:
I do not know what happened to you that makes you a grumpy person like today, but I hope everything is going to be fine for you, madam.
Itâs just a cup holder and if I had asked for an ice cup you could have given me the cup holder already, but I didnât. I chose to leave. Arguing with a person who thinks that I took advantage of the store by asking for ONE PAPER CUP HOLDER would just make me more miserable. If I learned that buying giving me a cup holder because I carried both Pret & Starbucks cup got you into trouble, I wouldnât ask for it BUT WE ALL KNOE THAT YOU ARE NOT INTO ANY TROUBLE BY GIVING ME JUST A PAPER CUP HOLDER.
I donât know if you treated me like that because of my look, or my background, but I donât think you would done that with a local.
I think that you found yourself lucky by bullying me with that attitude. Because it would not end up like that with another single person.
For those who read this and think: âItâs JUST A CUP HOLDER GET OVER ITâ then EXACTLY! Itâs just a cup holder how can one be so disrespectful and unpleasant attitude?
Even though I have a Pretty Monthly Subscription, I still come to Starbucks and buy drinks. But from now on I donât think that will be the case anymore.
For anyone craving for good Matcha Latte and a nice atmosphere cafe at cheaper prices, Iâd recommend Federal which is also based in Oxford Road.
Starbucks will still be my favourite brand afterwards, but you Madam A, I suggest you get rid of that way of treating people thinking you are solving a problem.
Being flexible and treating people with love is how we work in this industry. You might change the place you work for but if that attitude remains and runs deep, I am sure Starbucks will not just lose 1 customer.
For the other staff that stay silenced the whole time. I think you should have said something⊠But bottomline I understand itâs not your fault and you are buying and...
Read moreI usually detest going out for a coffee as I find the performance of being a specialised wheelchair user, manoeuvring doors, tables, queues etc really difficult to manage. Visiting the Starbucks at the M.R.I however was a trip I will gladly repeat. My daughter and I were greeted at the door by a very happy and friendly lady who opened the door and greeted us both with a compliment, then as we queued she came over to us and asked very politely and discreetly if we were staying in or taking out and when we replied with staying in she then said she would sort out a table for me, which was then sorted to suit my needs. Now she wasnât the only member of staff who helped us out that day, I noted that every member of staff was really polite, helpful and genuinely engaged with the customer. Usually if someone is trying to be as helpful as they were it can come over as a pitying or patronising manner but not in this store. At the end of the visit I asked one of the baristas if he knew the name of the lady who had held the door open and helped me out to which I was told, âoh you mean Elaine, yes sheâs our manager and sheâs great!â So from beginning to end we had great service, great coffee and people who genuinely seemed to enjoy working there as a team. Elaine if you read this you and your team made my day,...
Read moreI come here on my break quite often and the staff tend to be so lovely for example the man with bleach blonde hair is always so nice, but unfortunately the manager is really really rude and this doesnât seem to be limited to anyone at all. she is rude to both her staff and customers and i can tell why half the time the staff seem to be in an awful mood, however, the store just seems to be falling apart a bit now. the newer (i think) staff have been downright rude and acted like i was their biggest inconvenience when simply ordering. when i finally got my drink (which they didnât make for ages, even though they made my boyfriends from the same order) presume all because it was a cold bar drink they couldnât be bothered to make, it was made completely against the standard that it was...
