The food is just ok. Lamb palak was outstanding. Lamb chops were good, not great. Tandoor seasoning lacked any lemon or spice. Chutneys were more for show than flavour. Very sugary. The wife thought the popadoms were over cooked I thought they were good. Malai kofta itself was decent enough but lacked texture and the sauce it came in was mostly tomato soup as far as I could tell. Butter chicken had little or no fenugreek to be tasted, which is an essential ingredient that finishes off the dish; there was certainly zero dried kasoori methi added at the end. Roti was decent but it's just a roti isn't it. Plain rice was plain rice. Garlic naan was inedible due to the insane amount of raw garlic on it. I counted approx 4 cloves worth on one half. Actually hurt my tongue when I ate it it was so sharp. Service was slow. Loads of staff, half of them seem to be running around grafting while the rest toss it off. One staff member floating around gossiping as far as I could tell. Waited a good 15 mins upon being seated watching her talk while we wondered when we might be served for a drink at least. Good value. They took the naan off the bill after I told them my mouth was stinging so fair play. Maybe we chose the wrong dishes or got an off night. It all looks great but do wonder if that's for the benefit of the gram rather than your pallette. Harsh review maybe as it's not a terrible place, but when you're in south Manchester it's easy to get found out; there's much better curry restaurants around; It's not a real curry house. The lamb palak...

A relaxing energy as you walk in. We visited on a Monday night so it was quiet, and music was playing at a suitable level to allow full conversation. There was a fragrant smell which caught my attention (clean and flowery as opposed to kitchen and food smells).
The highlight for us was the food. Every dish was delicious, we had three starters full of flavour, two incredibly rich curries with naan as a side and popadoms to start.
Service was very good. I believe it was Mahir who served us. He was exceptionally polite, gentle and friendly. The food came in perfect timing right as our appetites reached a climax. There is an optional service charge automatically added to your bill at the end.
The restaurant is delicately decorated in a contemporary style. The bathroom was very nicely decorated, with a slight rustic feel, and was clearly well looked after by the staff.
We did feel like the food was expensive, at just under £40 a head for 1.5 starters, curry and naan (+optional service charge). We went on a whim so perhaps were looking for something less pricey (and exciting), so I may replace the fifth star on further reflection.
Overall, fantastic restaurant with delicious, rich food and a lovely inviting and...
Read moreI recently dined at Indian Affair, and let me tell you, it was a feast for the senses! The food was incredibly tasty, bursting with a symphony of rich flavors that danced on my palate. I ordered the lamb, specifically asking for it to be very spicy. While it could have packed a bit more heat, the dish was still absolutely delicious and left me wanting more.
The atmosphere at Indian Affair was just as delightful as the food. My friends and I savored every bite and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. A little tip: make sure to book in advance, as this popular spot fills up quickly.
Now, here’s a fun twist—when you stroll down the street to get to Indian Affair, you’re greeted with an array of enticing aromas from various regional cuisines. It’s like a global food tour! The challenge is resisting the urge to stop at every restaurant you pass. But trust me, Indian Affair is worth it.
In summary, if you’re in the mood for some seriously good Indian cuisine, Indian Affair is a must-try. The lamb was a standout, and the overall experience was fantastic. Highly...
