My sister and I decided to visit this cafe on Monday, the first of April, expecting a pleasant breakfast experience. However, what we encountered was far from satisfactory. Overall, the combination of poor service, tasteless food, and unprofessional behavior ensures that my sister and I will not be returning to this cafe. It's truly disheartening when a potentially enjoyable dining experience is marred by such incompetence. Upon entering, we were the only two customers in the cafe, which initially seemed promising for a quick and attentive service. We ordered smoothies, a full English breakfast, and waffles. The smoothies tasted disappointingly like water. The real trouble began when it came to our food orders. Despite being the only customers, my sister finished her meal before my waffles even arrived. It took two reminders to the staff to finally get them started on my order, and even then, they only began preparing it when my sister was nearly finished eating. To make matters worse, when my waffle finally arrived, it was burned beyond recognition. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and offering a proper solution, the staff member attempted to salvage it by repeatedly poking it with a stick, rendering it inedible. Paying £10 for a burned waffle is not only disappointing but also unacceptable. When I requested a refund for the waffle, the response I received was both unapologetic and rude. The staff member begrudgingly refunded only the cost of the waffle (which I never got!) and then attempted to placate me with a simple egg and toast replacement. I ended in further disappointment as I received nothing but burned toast after an additional 20-minute wait. The lack of accountability and professionalism from the lady at the till was truly appalling. A sincere apology and a full refund should have been offered...

Hugely under-rated and lovely little cafe. A hidden Northern Quarter gem which doesn't get as much attention as its better known rivals in the busier areas of the NQ around Stevenson Square, due to its less obvious location (although it's only 5 minutes' walk from the others). The cafe is light and airy, with a clean, minimalist aesthetic: mostly white and wood, with funky pink chairs. The walls, however, are covered with shelves crammed with ingredients and stock, which gives it almost an apothecary feel. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have an enormous range of herbal and speciality teas. Generous doorstop sandwiches are made fresh in front of you, and they're usually well stocked with home-made cakes and sweets. They also stock a variety of bottled beers, and have a couple of tables outside, so on a summer's day it would make a nice alternative venue for a cheeky...

My wife and i decided by chance to go into this place and what a disappointment. The woman behind the counter was eating toast and did not seem to be bothered, not to mention rude. She was not friendly at all. We ordered a toast with peanut butter and one breakfast (egg, tomato, mushroom) it came over £16 . everything was added to the bill. Paid extra for, butter, extra for soya milk and extra for each item in the breakfast. We ended up with small portions and a measley piece of toast with eggs. Overrated, overpriced and super unfriendly staff. better off going to mainstream brekkie places down the road....

Found this spot to have a breakfast before heading home to London. Great decoration. Service was friendly and nice. Chai Latte was really nice. They forgot our order so waited almost an hour before getting our all day English breakfast, however they apologised and offered free drinks, easily done and good we weren’t in a rush. The breakfast was decent. The beans weren’t too warm when recieved, bacon was more fat than meat, and the mushrooms looked a little sad. However, as an overall plate, sausages were really nice, toast was perfect and fresh orange juice and chai latte were really good.

Ventured here after reading the mostly good reviews, arrived around 10:15am on a Sunday morning to find they’d only just opened and the kitchen wasn’t serving yet so I think your listed hours on here are wrong? Was happy to wait, food arrived quickly and was really tasty. Mushrooms on toast with kimchi butter was something I haven’t seen before but was full of flavour, might need a sharper knife for the sourdough 😬 Inside/out were doggy-friendly with treats and water bowls available.
