I recently stayed at Motel One Manchester-Piccadilly for academic purposes, as I had an important exam the following day. While I have had positive experiences at this hotel in the past, this particular stay left me with mixed feelings.

Upon staying in my room, I was disappointed to discover bugs on the bed. As someone with a phobia and discomfort towards bugs, this was an unsettling experience for me. However, I must commend the staff for their quick response in addressing the issue. They promptly arranged a room change, and I appreciate their efficiency and attentiveness in resolving the problem.

Despite the room change, my unease with the bugs lingered, and it unfortunately affected my ability to have a restful night's sleep. As a result, I did not perform as well as I had hoped on my exam day. It was disappointing, considering my previous stays at this hotel had been comfortable and pleasant.

While this one-off incident will not deter me from staying at Motel One Manchester-Piccadilly in the future, it has certainly made me more cautious and attentive to the condition of the bed. I trust that this was an isolated occurrence and not reflective of the overall cleanliness standards of the hotel.

Aside from this issue, I must acknowledge the positive aspects of my stay. The location of the hotel is excellent, right by Piccadilly Station, making it convenient for transportation. The staff, apart from handling the bug situation, were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The overall ambiance of the hotel is modern and stylish, and the amenities provided were satisfactory.

Based on my previous positive experiences and the hotel's convenient location, I would consider staying here again in the future, but with a heightened attention to the bed's...

Spotless, clean and pretty hotel. You'll walk in to the lobby and immediately get a smile on your face as it's quite a stunning entrance. The bar is decked out and you'll be greeted by friendly, smiley staff. Lifts are there to whisk you up to your floor (we were on 11) and not that noisy if you're situated right next to a shaft. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to request not being near the lifts though.

Rooms are basic compared to the wow-factor of the lobby. So don't set expectations too high once you swipe into your room. They are clean and relatively spacious though! The bathroom is trendy and has a decent shower (it could be a little more powerful perhaps). The bed is firm but comfortable and there is enough space for two to get ready if going on for a night in town. We didn't use the TV, so can't comment on that.

We didn't book breakfast as we weren't quite sure if it was worth it at £9.00 per person. We checked it out in the morning, but it was relatively basic (continetal) and we fancied something a little warmer. It's a shame as if you could order more traditional breakfasts like full english and pancakes, we may have stayed. Instead, we went and ate at Moose Coffee. It's a coffee and brunch place adjacent to the main Manchester Picadilly concourse. They do amazing brunch (full english and panckaes for example). Book though! Many get turned away at the door. We luckily booked an hour ahead.

All in all, a nice simple but trendy hotel that will be perfect for a few nights in Manchester. If you're staying for longer, you might want to find somewhere that will be a little comfier spending more time in the room. If you're on a budget...

This was our 6th stay at this hotel. When we go to Manchester Motel One Piccadilly is our go-to hotel because all of our stays had been good - until our most recent. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend at the end of August for 4-nights. Sadly, we won’t be staying again. Our room was never cleaned once, despite saying upon check-in that we wanted this. We had to change towels ourselves on the third night and were not given a full set. It meant our small towels and floor mat were never changed which unacceptable for a 4-night stay. We also returned to our room early evening to be greeted by the smell of rotting food on our floor. There were around 8-9 piles of rubbish outside the rooms, and an overflowing bin with flies. Reception cleared this up, but some of that had already been there since the morning when the cleaners were on the floor. Our bin in our room was never emptied, nor mugs changed and tea/coffee/milk replenished. Again, we had to ask for all this - things we’d expect to be taken care of. The on duty manager ended up emptying our bin, and blamed covid for the poor service, and that the cleaning staff might not speak good English. While this could be true, I don’t accept this as a reasonable explanation. We were refunded the price of our room upgrade, but only after calling up 2 days after checking out despite being promised a call from the manager in 24-hours. The fact our stay was not comfortable with very basics taken care of means we won’t be returning. We could have had a clean and comfortable room elsewhere at a cheaper price, I’d encourage people to look around before choosing to settle with this hotel. I can only conclude it’s...

The view from the room was a concrete wall then sky The beds were more suited for kids under 10, the duvet you could shoot peas through - it was that thin. No good for adults. Had to persevere. No iron and board in the rooms, had to complain before they dumped one at my room door. No draught beer in the bar, had to have bottles. Bar was too warm with three fires going. All of the hotels ive stayed in, even as small as a B&B have biscuits with the tea and coffee offerings. The room was nothing like what the luxury room looked like on the website. I think they were pandering to the Eurovision workers staying there, which is unfair, everybody is a customer. They said all their twin rooms are on level 7 with poor views. And no doubt kids sized beds. Absolutely ridiculous. And to think - Dragons Den is filmed in Manchester, they had someone pitching bed extensions for taller people. They have not put any thought whatsoever into their customer experience. I complained twice and was met with awkward silence. When it comes to complaints they are very ignorant and bury their heads in the sand. They dont want to deal with complaints, and rather than coming and having a discussion about the issues, they ignore you. 1 out of 5 for Motel One Picaddily, and id rather not have gave them that! Manchester is a great place, Id go back in a minute, but definitely not to Motel One opposite the train station. Ive been to small B&Bs that were 100 times better than this. Motel One bosses - You should be Hugely Ashamed of your staff running this hotel. The ignorance. You can defend them if you want it will just show the ignorance runs through the business.

My fiancé and I stayed here from Monday 8th of August 2022 to the Saturday 13th August 2022. Great hotel close to Manchester Piccadilly station as we had train journeys booked from there as day trips out. The room was very clean and spacious as it’s a room for a disabled person, my fiancé has mobility issues so it was perfect for him, especially the wet room bathroom. I’ve knocked a star off for the following reasons: 1. The room windows overlooked the other side of the third floor corridor so we had to keep curtains closed as I find this a privacy issue. Our room number was 3.20. 2. There was no phone in the room to call reception for anything. 3. There should be signs outside to warn other people to keep the noise down at night. 4. Price of the continental breakfast was ridiculous (£10.50 per person) and to me, there wasn’t much choice and I should know, I’ve travelled around Europe and know what a proper continental breakfast is. 5. No bedside tables in the room. I’d like to add I put a complaint in about revellers to reception and they assured me they’d deal with the noise issues we had on the Friday night. They’re a real credit to the hotel and can’t do enough for you. This hasn’t put us off coming back though. See you again soon Motel One 👍🏻

For some reason despite this hotel being in the UK all emails from them were in German making it impossible to read them. When I arrived I was told I've been put in an "accessible" room, once getting to the room I found the lower accessible sink was placed immediately Infront of the toilet only 6 inches away, no one with legs could sit on it, and how they expect anyone in a wheelchair or handicapped in anyway I have no idea. After asking to be moved, the desk staff debated putting me in a "room with a view" when I hadn't paid the premium for it, this view was essentially a window facing the train station, no "view" and why they suggested I should pay the extra I have no idea. Although they boast king-size beds, this is in fact its 2 singles pushed together. I felt like I was going to fall down between the 2 beds. Overall felt cheap, very small room, tiny bathroom in the second room, despite them pricing themselves up there with some of the more premium hotels. Won't be staying here again.
