MCR's Top Venue for Private Party Hire!!
Just had our engagement party at On The Hush in Manchester back in Mid March and can highly recommend this venue for those who are looking for a place in the city centre to host their own private party/event.
We had trouble with our initial venue who were going through a refurb so we had to look for somewhere new with not much time before our proposed date. After going to 15+ venues across the city centre we decided to choose On The Hush. There was so much to like about this place and so much on offer, from it's quirky and fun decor and great city centre location, to the ability to bring your own DJ. Even the ability for catering too which we didn't go for as it was a late start.
The space was big enough for our party of 80 guests and this came with options which included tables and seating but the venue can accommodate up to 120 standing! Best of all we were able to have the venue to ourselves and guests and not have to share the building/toilets or any portion of the room with the public, something which can't be said about other venues where you would have to walk through just to get to the private party room. Even little things like the lighting to get the right atmosphere and the heating or Aircon could be controlled.
On The Hush was also very reasonable when it came to deposit and minimum spend, especially in comparison to venues across the city. Furthermore the entire team were very accommodating in helping making our party very personable and unique. We were able to have the venues happy hour for the first 2 hours of our party which guest's absolutely loved. The staff even helped make special themed cocktails for our party and printed the posters we made for it. They also allowed for our decorations in the venue and set these up for us.
They even let us make use of the venues candyfloss machine so we could provide our guests with a sweet treat on the night. A guest who attended out party was also celebrating their birthday and instead of bringing them a small cake we went with the On The Hush's brownie stack. This exceeded our expectations and the presentation was amazing and the guests loved it, definitely great value for money!
No request was big or small, and we definitely had a lot but the team were great in communication and went above and beyond to help make our party the best. They even helped us raise money for a cancer charity close to us by giving guests the option to donate when they purchased our cocktails or any drinks they had on the night.
If you want a venue to host your party/event then look no further then On The Hush. Your guests will be impressed with the decor and the vibes (no dark boring room or need to bring lots of expensive decorations), there's plenty of cocktails and drinks options, plenty of cool areas for photo ops, pleasant and welcoming staff, great hire pricing and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot usually one to write negative reviews because usually there is a reason as to why bad things have happened and itās understandable. However, I booked the bottomless brunch for me and two of my friends and upon arrival they did not take my name or anything the waiter just showed us to a table which was not even cleaned yet. And I had to say that we booked on for the brunch as they seemed to have no idea. When we sat down they told us that they did not have three of the main meals in and also did not have two of the four drinks that they are known for, for the brunch. We were contemplating staying because we didnāt really want to pay the full price for barely anything, especially since the three main food courses that were not one were the ones we would have had. We respectfully stated that we were probably going to go somewhere else as we were not really happy to pay the full price for what was being provided. I understand that there are busy periods and sometimes there is nothing you can do. It was the attitude of the manager that rubbed me the wrong way as the waiter was very apologetic to the situation and even offered us a complementary glass of Prosecco. But when the manager came out he proceeded to say that I did not book the brunch and place blame upon us instead saying that they could of given this table to someone else. At the time I thought maybe I didnāt book it, so I went back onto the website to see if I did make a mistake, and I didnāt. The fact they didnāt even take my name when we came through the door was also a sign that be they didnāt check if it was booked or not anyway. The manager or the one who we assume was the manager and a female waiter were looking around the door at me and my friend clearly talking about us and it was an uncomfortable feeling, just a negative vibe from them. The male waiter who was the only one who was acting in a nice manner gave us the glass of Prosecco even though the manger clearly didnāt want us to have it and we drank it said thanks to the male waiter and left. Just poor service unfortunately, Iāve been wanting to go for a while as well, the interior set up everything is very nice. Just didnāt get a nice vibe from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a reservation today and the waiter was brilliant, however when we asked for the bill he brought us a bill with a few added items, when we spoke will him that he should only charge us 3* tier 3 bottomless brunch which was Ā£36,99 per person he then said that he should also add Ā£7,50 per person for the cocktails as an upgrade but this was not the case as tier 3 already had cocktails included, then a waitress overstepped and started explain thatās how is supposed to be but I opened their menu and was obviously that we need to pay only Ā£36.95 not another Ā£7,50. She then came and said that this is a printer issue and we are right and should only pay Ā£36,95 per person. I very politely said that if we didnāt say that there is a problem with bill we could overpay due to their mistake , then very frustrated said that this wonāt happen but of course it will. While we speak the bartender walking crossed his feet into my friend chair who just gave a birth! And she fell on the floor he did apologise but didnāt seems honest. The waitress come to our table and she on paper just wrote how much we should pay no apology not even a receipt! I think we should contact the authorities because that completely not acceptable! We pay and we of course left a tip, then we went to the toilet and when we went out the staff were laughing at the situation that happened to my friend ! This was so uncomfortable for us and...
