Appalling customer service this morning. I placed my order which included a black Americano coffee. I was served by a gentleman who works there regularly at that time. I placed my order and explicitly said the words “black Americano” the gentleman serving me said would that be black or white so I repeated “black”. After placing my order I waited for the coffee and the same gentleman looked at me and said “black Americano” I took the coffee and thanked him. As I went to add sugar in my coffee I realised it was white and not black so I took it back to the counter and explained it was white not black. The same gentleman then proceeded to raise his voice and said I had ordered a white americano. I said I did not and I ordered black. He then insisted that I did order a white americano “and I was on my phone”. I was stunned because my phone was nowhere in sight and I was being accused of being a liar in a busy shop which was embarrassing and distressing. I was then given a black Americano which seemed to be for another customer, this customer stating it was fine for me to take the coffee. I took the coffee but I was so shocked at how I had been spoken to, I was rendered speechless. If it was a misunderstanding that is ok but just get on with resolving the issue, without making customers feel unwelcome and at fault. It is not acceptable to treat customers in the way I was treated. Unfortunately this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I won’t be returning to Pret again...
Read moreRude staff. I visited the Pret store at Manchester University. When it was my turn to order, I requested a caramel latte and scanned my code. I noticed the staff member clicking +60p and looking unhappy. It occurred to me that I should have waited for him to finish before scanning my code. Feeling a bit confused, I saw the staff member bang on the table/machine and express his impatience to a colleague, complaining that customers never wait for him to finish before scanning. I was stunned and unsure of what to do. Normally, after I place my order, the staff says, "Your coffee is on the way," but this time there was no feedback, only visible signs of frustration. The staff member then told me to go and wait while he made my coffee. Later, I reported the incident to the store manager. After investigating, the manager explained that the staff member had hit the machine to make it work due to a malfunction and assured me that he had not said anything offensive. Read moreThe barista was very inappropriate and rude. I asked the lady who worked at the cashier for a decaf shot and a regular shot because the drink is for a pregnant woman. She didn’t say they cannot do it.
The barista handed me the drink telling me it is my last time to order such a drink. I told him it is for a pregnant woman! That’s why it was decaf and singly shot. He got frustrated and told me this is the last time, we are not allowed and handed me the drinks and gave me his back.
It is very rude and inconsiderate! Why would the lady at the cashier say nothing. His behavior honestly is very disrespectful and you can see how annoyed he is.
It is shameful that pregnant women needs are not being accommodated, let alone not understanding from the first place and treated. I honestly was very shocked by the unprofessionalism, this is my usual order and no other store has treated me...
